Last time I wanted a custom texture pack for an adventure map, I did it myself. Let's put it this way, it turned out okay, but took me a long time and bogged down the adventure map. I'm looking for someone to make a texture pack for a new adventure map, themed around Avatar. Whoever wishes to take on this challenge must at least have a good idea of the movie's details, otherwise you wouldn't understand what I want.

I would say yes, but this seems too much like a challenge. You'd need to make it an HD texture pack, and for the mobs, I don't think you can change much about their looks...

When I created my other texture pack (a tron texture pack) I just edited it and saved it. i wasn't really sure on the difference between 16X16 and 32X32. As for things I would want changed, it would mostly be weapons, mobs, and some odd items. Like I said in the original post, I would want two versions of the texture pack, an RDA version (where the mobs look like Na'vi) and a Na'vi version (where the mobs look like RDA). Weapons would also need to be specialized. The bow would obviously work for the Na'vi as is, but the swords could possibly be changed to spears or knives. For the RDA, the bow could be made to look like a gun, and the swords look like hunting knives of some sort. Other than the skeleton and zombies, I'll have to get back to you on the rest of the mobs. Alright, I've been figuring out some of the stuff for the texture pack. I think it can be done so that there is an overlap between the texture packs and specialized weapons and items for each.
Overlap:
1. if possible, brick being redone to be a chainlink fence
2. the ghasts looking like either ikran, or medusa (let me know if you need pictures)
3. wolves as viperwolves
4. the colors of the spiders changed
5. pig as direhorse
6. cow as sturmbeest
7. the look of iron changed
8. sheep as hexapede
9. glowstone a purplish color, like the bio-luminescence
RDA Specific:
1. zombies and skeletons as Na'vi
2. bow as gun, arrows as bullets
3. sword as hunting knife
4. helm as exopack
5. crafting table looks like its made of metal
6. map looks electronic
7. redstone torch as a battery
8. chest looks metal
9. torches electronic looking
Na'vi Specific:
1. zombies and skeltons as RDA Troops
2. bow as a bow
3. sword as spear or knife
4. armor as decorative looking armor
5. crafting table looks wooden
6. map being paper
7. chest as wooden
8. torches don't change
UPDATE: Most of items.png is finished. Swords are now hunting knifes. The bow has been changed to a submachine gun and arrows to a magazine clip. The animation has been changed to a bullet. I have changed diamond to look like unobtainiom. It is clearly differentiated from the others. Axes are chainsaws and pickaxes are jackhammers. Some food items have been changed to a canned form due to the long periods of time in space. Wooden doors have been changed to unlocked sliding door and iron to locked sliding door. I will be moving onto armor and terrain.png next.
PS: the gui for the crafting table, chest, etc has all been changed to metal computeristic gui. The background of minecraft menu has been changed to a smooth flowing blue.

Awesome, sounds cool! I've actually started the wolves, but that's about it. I've thought through some of the stuff, and I thought of some things that will need changed for both packs.
Jack O' Lanterns and Pumpkins are TV monitors
Cobblestone is like some kind of metal
Brick as a chainlink fence
Glowstone purple so that it looks like the bio luminescence
UPDATE: all of the GUI folder is done and I am working on terrain.png. Fences can't be see-through due to the fact that if they are than you can see into the world as if you were using an xray texture pack. I have made them fences with a solid background. Glowstone has been changed, signs have been changes to a futuristic chrome sign, all of the buckets have been changed to sealed containers with a laboratory like design. The map is done. the dial has been changed and the pack icon has been changed as well. I am wondering if you want a dense jungle like texture or an avatar at night texture. I will post a beta version of the texture pack next update.

I tested the pack real quick and I must say, I am very impressed! I think my favorite part is the gun and bullets, cause that is just awesome. The RDA symbol on the crafting screen is great as well. The only thing I would suggest being changed is the screen of the jack o' lantern, and that I like the texture for the cobblestone, but maybe iron could be changed to look slightly diffrent. Where I've placed the tv's on the portion of the map I've done is mostly in the bio lab and link room, so maybe just something that looks like words on the screen would be good. Also, I'm not sure if I've mentioned this, but since you haven't started armor yet, it would be great if the helmet could be an exo-pack. And the cactus, if that can be made to look like some kind of alien plant, that'd be good. Thank you so much and keep up the great work!

I've built the whole RDA complex out of iron and then tables and stuff out of cobblestone, which now looks like metal, so I just want there to be a little bit of a diffrence. Also, and I should've thought of this sooner, when I experimented with the pack, it looked really cool for the moon to be made both larger, and to look like polyphemus.
