I've been trying to make my own texture pack by editing another one I have installed called "wayukian Pack", and i've been having some problems. These are the steps I take, and i'll list where the problem is.
1. I copy the (unzipped) wayukian pack from the texture packs folder to my desktop, where I then unzip it with winrar.
2. I open up the unzipped folder, scroll down to the "terrain" png file, edit it with microsoft paint. (I dont think you need to know what changes I make), and save it.
3. In the wayukian pack folder, I change the text in the pack.text file to say "because mining is so much easier with this pack", and save.
4. I close the window, and go to the desktop.
5. I rename the folder (originally Wayukian_pack_v3.0 ) as ClearCraft.
6. In the desktop, I right-click the renamed ClearCraft folder and select the winrar option "add to archive" and change the archive format from RAR to ZIP.
7. I then right-click on the clearcraft folder, and select the winrar option "add to clearcraft" this creates a clearcraft.zip folder on the desktop (though the .zip is not included in the name).
8. I then drag the folder into the texturepack folder in the .minecraft
9. I then open up minecraft, and select the mods and texturepacks option after the mojang icon shows up.
THIS is the problem
The clearcraft texturepack shows up on the mods/texturepacks selection screen, and I can select it, but All the default textures are used. And by "default" I dont mean the wayukian pack textures. I mean the ORIGINAL textures, as in the ones you get if you select the "default" texture pack on the selection screen.
I use Windows 7. Please tell me where i am going wrong, and whether it is even possible to create a texture pack with the method I am trying. Thanks!
