Would a 1x1 texture pack be good for your Fps? ANd is it possible to make one, not just a 16x16 with one color?
of course it would be. but the game would kind of look like ****. I'm assuming that with a 3rd party tool, it could be possible, but remember, the images of your tools would have to be 1x1 as well.

The game is designed to use 16x16, anything larger (or smaller) would cause the game to crash. So unless you edit minecraft to work with a 1x1, it would be impossible to play.

Actually you use MCPatcher. Look it up. See all the 32x and 64x and 128x 256x and even 512x? :/
You don't even need MC Patcher to use any other resoltuion than 16x16. MC Patcher is only used to fix the glitch where the water and lava textures don't get truly resized with the whole terrain.png and override the textures of anything in their place. For example, with 32x32 textures, pumpkins and netherrack have some parts of them replaced with water and lava textures. MC Patcher also enables you to modify said water and lava textures, and compasses and watches as well.
Also, you can make textures in the terrain.png file 1x1 but still leave items and any other textures in 16x16 resolution.
Any textures below 16x will crash Minecraft if you aren't using MCPatcher.

It will probably help your fps, but the torches, glass, rails etc will look really bad.

As I said, editing minecraft by using MCPatcher. As far as I know though, those only work for higher resolution, not lower.
OK I've been proven wrong. I'll leave this to people that know what they are talking about then.lower resolutions work aswell.
even weird resolutions, such as 11x11 will work, though they are buggy.
Actually, if you search this forum, there are several 1x1 texture packs, 4x4, 8x8, and even a 6x6.
But i dont recommend lowering your resolution to any of these, as the game would look very bad. Unless you run on a very bad computer, dont.
I actually find a 8x8 packs better than most 16x16 and even 32x32 packs.
its a matter of taste.
