Do you mind if I snag your name for use in my new mod? It basically implements new mobs and add-ons to current mobs in the game. Along with a new item called Steel. The mod is called "Steel Creatures". So far I have this. A new bird called "Steel Feathers" (maybe) which once tamed with a steel ingot(yes steel) can be used to collect resources for you. Then we have Steel pigs which can be made by right clicking the pig with a steel ingot. It is used as a mount and can me controlled unlike the normal pig. Next is the cow, which once turned into a steel cow, drops items like cowpies every say 5 minutes that can be used like bonemeal. It also can drop other resources depending on what you give it. Like saplings or leaves can be turned into fertilizer, meat can be turned into slop to replenish a steelpigs health, and so on. Lastly(so far), is the steel wolf. it has increased HP and does more damage than a normal tamed wolf. You can also ride this mob as well. I will for sure be implementing a lot more, if I can under your permission that is.

If you have a steel pig and a steel wolf, why not a steel bird? lol
But if you do chose 'steel feathers', I will do nothing more than bask in the free publicity.
ehhm, quote "A new mob called Steel Feathers (bird lol)" it is a steel bird, with a wolf with a blue mark over its eye for the face. <-Original idea, yes?

I meant, why not call it 'steel bird'?
And I'm loving the wolf idea. Just be sure to mention where you got the inspiration from. :wink.gif:

I am coming up with names other then Steel ____ for each mob. Steel feathers made sense for the bird so I chose it :biggrin.gif:. It is like, why not call the creeper Green mob? It wouldn't be exciting! Anyways, on topic, keep up the excellent work, many thanks to you.

Oh god, just got on for the first time an a little while and found and read this. Now im worried you wont like it once you see it, lol.
Also I hope you'll read the post before you download, but just in case, the shovel is so not permanent, someone brought it to my attention that it was someone eles work(I originaly picked up the pack from the creator who abandoned it and gave permision, and he aparently used misa's tools) and I made a new shovel(crappy, but all I had time for) and stuck it in there. And college is just getting started for me, so ive been way too busy lately to really sit down and make a good one.
Im hoping to clean up anything looking bad or rough in the pack, and start doing some real work on it and trying to finish it up once time permits. So yeah, thoughts on what is rough or just plain bad would help, seeing how I get thousands of downloads now, and nearly zero replies :dry.gif: seriously if you want the pack to get better, you have to tell the creator your opinions, which I guess most users dont really care to do.
I neglected doing this review for far too long, so now it's time to get to work. Sorry for the appalling delay.
Highlights:
Item packs are unique in that they are more akin to an expensive accessory than a complete outfit. As such, they can either enhance or detract from the minecraft experience, depending upon their quality and execution.
The Monster Hunter theme pack, which includes custom GUI screens and art alongside the altered items, is an exceptionally good accessory for minecraft. The unique art style employed is absolutely fascinating to stare at, and though the items have been changed from their traditional appearance (sometimes radically) almost all are still recognizable, due in part to the cleverness and intuitive feel of each design. The armor in particular is astounding.
The paintings are also worth a round of applause. Save for a few (which I will touch on below), most are either stylized renditions of flora and fauna or kick-ass weapons that can be mounted on the wall. Needless to say, the paintings included in this pack stand miles above the bland eyesores that come with minecraft.
Room for Improvement:
My quibbles with this pack were few, but still worth bringing up.
First-- and this is more along the lines of fangirl exasperation than an actual critique-- I wish this pack included the terrain as well. I would love to see the monster hunter style (which I have never, regrettably, actually played) brought to life in the minecraft world through more than just the items and screens.
In the same vein, although I love the bright colors and stylized designs, they cause a bit of visual friction with the default minecraft world. The two styles simply do not mesh well together. Another reason to make this item pack a full texture pack. :biggrin.gif:
Nit-picks:
-All of the larger-than-life 'action' paintings can be found with a simple google search. While these scaled-down images look very nice in game, the artist in me rebels against using something that can be found on google. That's just my personal opinion though, and I'm sure there are a lot of people who would disagree with me.
-The axes look strange, and somehow too mechanical. They almost seem steampunk, whereas the rest of the pack calls Avatar to mind. The way they are bent over backwards, as though the handle were rubber, is also awkward.
-A few of the items were simply too alien to recognize, and I had to mouse over them to see what they were, including the bed, feather, and saddle. While I like the reasoning behind having the saddle be a question mark (as it's found in 'secret' dungeons'), I don't understand why the feather is also a question mark. It seems unnecessary to me.
-The wavy orange border around the GUI screens is a bit too blurry, and could use some sharpening:
Overall:
This pack, if it were to be completed, would be a top-tier pack. On its own though, it still proves to be a very nice addition to minecraft-- a Gucci in the world of accessories.

I cut your quote so I didnt flood the thread unecesarily. Now on to my reply:
I appreciate the review, and this really gives me a lot of confidence. Let me just say: I love the work you've done on your Enchanted Pack, and I think you're definitely one of the best artists on this site. I personally feel I lack in artistic talent, and I cant even begin to match some of the better artists out there, so to see the appreciation you give it gives me some reassurance I’m doing good work and not purely appealing to fan boys of monster hunter alone.
Now on to my specific responses:
I know how well terrain would round out this pack, and I would love to have it. However im just not the best pixel artist, and I feel I cannot do monster hunter, nor the rest of the pack, justice in my work. Not to mention the GUI itself is still unfinished, which is priority one for the time being.
The items seem to be your biggest comments, so let me try to explain why they are what they are. Since it is a theme for a video game, I attempted to keep the items looking as close to a icon from the game as possible, and preferably a similar item. This however led to conflicts, such as the overuse of some icons, which is a major annoyance with monster hunter, where any miscellaneous item tends to be a question mark. So I did my best around the items, and tried to keep them being "logical" in game icon choices. This also leads to your comment on the axes and beds, the axe is an axe icon from the game, and the bed is the home base icon, seeing how home base contains a bed.
And on the paintings I have a twofold point to make. 1) I didn’t (choose/place/resize) them, that was Sodio's(original creator, who abandoned this pack and gave open permission for revival) work. And 2) They actually seem to be what a lot of people like, they are the area in which I get the most comments in the thread, so I might offer an alt pack with different paintings later.(much later)
All in all, you seemed positive about my work, which I am in favor of, lol. Thanks again for the review, if I ever get a chance ill take some of it into consideration.
Also based on this, and my own thoughts, once the GUI is done, ill probably create an alternate version of the pack with more logical(for minecraft) items as opposed to completely theme focused ones, as well as an alternate painting one eventually.
Totally fine with me cause i just lost my hard drive (burn out),needed time as i was woeried you would review it without the updatebut now i know i have more time. Im currently fishing around for mybackup one with major update on it that's been 4 months in the making 。・゜・(ノД`)・゜・。

I don't have a texture pack that I can submit, but I liked reading these.
Very informative.

Retired StaffSorry, the queue is closed until I can get through all the ones waiting in line. :smile.gif:
Sorry guys, updating for 1.8 has been consuming all of my time. I'll get back to everyone here as soon as things settle down.
