Sadly, white doesn't work, due to transparency issues. But, to make it up to you guys, I'll make garbage craft (tons of colors sprayed everywhere, without reason nor skill).

Yes, I agree. It was funny, though. (I MAY have overdone it a bit). I think the problem is simply a lack of talent and willingness to actually make something original and good. To give you an example, it's like all of the companies who made cheap and simple MP3 players, copying what Apple popularized (and did very well), simply to make profit.
I think there should be a voting system internally that allows people to vote on whether a pack is crap or not. and have the texture subforums allow sorting based either the votes or by who has recently posted to that thread
or have a section that are dedicated to either "Completed" and those that are "WIP"
I agree...but... there is almost NONE in between the two, which is the kind i like... Soooo i made one, But no one really likes it because i am horrible at photography :sad.gif:
I completely agree with you guys. I have made a simple texture pack, and it was my first one. I used that one as a base and i learned lots of stuff from it. I am now working on a very (in my opinion) good texture pack, and not simple. I think some of these people release them because there are not to many threads where people can learn the tricks to making a good texture pack. I made my own thread for this purpose but we still need to help people make bigger and better packs, and teach them how.
I love where this thread is going. So I made a pack in under a minute, what you guys think? TEL ME NOAW.

I am glad to see some of the members start to jump on packs like these on the forums, Its good to see that people are backing me and others that are trying to be honest but also put forward a valid argument, telling them its crap wont work if you dont have and argument to back it.
The other thing I would encourage on this thread is comment on the packs you do love. Post a screen so its not a pointless bump, Ask the creator a question, as long as you dont make 2 comments in a row and you stay mildly on topic you are well with in the forum rules, so I stress again, if this thread can get 13 pages in 1 day, why the **** are the good packs struggling to stay on the front page guys? :smile.gif:

I follow all my favorite packs/packs of people I respect in general on an almost daily basis so it sure isn't me letting the trolls take over D:
On a similar note to Dorian, I'm going to encourage something: When you see a simple texture pack, but it's obvious the creator put some real time and effort into it even though a lot of it is "student work," take the time to gently let them know their pack needs improvement, not because it's bad, but because it's good enough that it deserves improvement. I did that earlier today with the guy I originally linked to, imnumberfour, who has some real potential and I told him so.
Because that will help separate the stuff that's not good because of laziness and the stuff that's not good because of inexperience. It's important to tell the difference between the two, and only blame people for things that are their fault. Nobody can be blamed for inexperience. And when it's clear they've got that creative spark, let them know.

Aww, but that's so dreary. And simple packs are so boring... With the magic of filters, you can amaze your friends and become one of the premier texture pack artists of Minecraft.
