Hi all!
I've edited misa's pack and made 64x64 texures for Aether Mod. This is my 1st work, do not scold so much :smile.gif:
This pack contain only all block textures.
Istallation:
Put "aether" folder in minecraft.jar or in your texture pack.
Q: Can I use your art for a project I plan to upload?
A: Depends. For the most part I'm fine with people using my work for modified texture packs and compilations so long as I'm properly credited for it. (A link to this thread would also be appreciated.) If however you plan to take donations or make money off of my work, I'm not okay with it. I provide my stuff completely for free to the Minecraft community, it's not put up for people to capitalize off of. It also gets a little complicated with projects that aren't related to Minecraft. For those, please PM me or head over to my tinychat. So here's a list of things to consider and avoid if you wish to use my work:
CONSIDER:
-Crediting me for the work of mine you're using.
-Limiting usage to Texture Packs and compilations
-A link to this thread and threads of other artist's work used is appreciated for sourcing reasons.
-Title your pack as a COMPILATION if you use a large portion of my work (and other artist's work) for sourcing reasons.
AVOID:
-Receiving payment or donations for a release using my work.
-Claiming my work (Edited or not) as completely your own work.
-Using my work for projects not related to Minecraft texture packs without contacting me first.
-Getting water on gremlins and feeding them after midnight.
I think that gives him permission, as long as he doesn't use adf.ly or take donations.
What AmbigramMan said.
People like to think they're texture pack police in this forum and frankly, it's quite annoying. It's like they get a jizz off acting like some kind of white-knight for artists. Yuck.
Moral of the story is you can post, remix, and do whatever with Misa's work as long as you credit her and all the other **** she's got on that list. You don't need permission first. You're fine. Ignore anyone saying otherwise.

In Misa's case, given the post above, I think it is fine. She has, effectively, given permission to everyone with terms and conditions. In a lot of cases, this is not stated, and thus permission is needed. It's particularly bad when people distribute edits of packs such as Dokucraft, which has a message specifically asking people not to redistribute it.
Actually yes, you do need permission now. There are new forum rules for texture pack remixing. Anyway I gave him permission on my tinychat. I should probably update my thread to better reflect the rules on the forums... If I get un-lazy enough to do so. :/

Wait.. are you telling me that according to the new forum rules, artists can't even willingly share their work publicly? What's the point? If you, the creator, states that it's okay to use your work as long as credit is given, why would people still need permission? I mean, that's like permission right there. You have given people permission by stating what you have put in your pack rules on your thread. Absolutely needing personal permission regardless of how the original creator feels about sharing is just... dumb. It's your work and you should be able to share it how you like, right?
I'm not arguing with you because I actually agree with your way of sharing, I'm just trying to understand that the hell is going on with this forum.

I think, in this instance, you are correct. If it is stated in the thread that adaptations may be made an distributed, I think that counts as permission as far as the forum rules are concerned. The rule was put into place to avoid people making remix packs with textures the creator did not want redistributing.

This topic about aether texture pack. Not about permissions!
Actually, we're discussing permissions regarding your stuff so it's pretty much completely relevant to this topic/thread.
Plus, we've helped clarify that your have permission to post this stuff so it's pretty rude to ridicule us for aiding you here while bumping your thread up, dude.

Mod edit: Please stay on topic. This is a thread about how to dispose a corpse (never thought I'd be saying that....)
Bump for great justice. This needs to be featured on the main Aether page; people who use Misa's should love this.

We were discussing whether or not this pack is actually allowed by forum rules.
It is.

I'm not the greatest with Photoshop but I have a few ideas. I might be able to make a couple, we'll see.
EDIT: We'll also need the GUIs for the Incubator, Enchanter, Inventory, and Book of Lore to match the Misa ones.
