Here's a wood texture I made for you to give CC on (p.s it's my first time using random colouration and not noise :3):
actual size:
Bigger for your viewing pleasure:
what do you think? I'm not that happy with it myself, colouring is all off -.-
Well I'm not going to comment on the color at all, because that's entirely up to your preference. You are missing some things though. Wood grain for one. Right now it is just random noise. You'll need to pull out some of those pixels to get some grain into it. You've got no highlights to speak of, making it a very flat image. And what is that thing on the left supposed to be?
The thing on the left, when the wood is tiled, is the supports of the wood (like in dokus pack)
It seem I have a lot to learn, therefore I am going back to browsing and learning!
There's nothing that beats doing it yourself.
Step 1: Copy someone's work by hand (But don't ever use it cause that would be totally uncool)
Step 2: Copy from a higher resolution's work, turning it into 16x.
Step 3: Come up with a new texture based off of your own inspiration and experience.
Step 4: Win
I use paint.net, it's very user friendly :3 Also I have a new style of wood! I am not using noise (because for some reasons that's bad...according to many artists.) so here goes:
actual size (with the pallet on the right of the image)
bigger for your viewing pleasure (with the pallet on the right of the image.)
It's a much better texture. The next problem is you have to make it wood-like, because this texture could double for bricks.
I would say its a little too dark. Try to be a bit more subtle about it. Next step is to toss it in game and see how it flies. Check the fence and stairs.
Thanks :smile.gif: I'm not expecting you to test them all out, i'll get steelfeathers too >:smile.gif: I have made a new cobble, but I can't show you as I am having a meal!
Man, I really like this pack, and I don't know why.
EDIT: Quick question, is there any difference between the adventure one and the architecture one (other than the torches)? If not, will there be in the future?

Yes there is. The architecture pack has blocks for stone, where the adventure has normal stone. This lets you use stone in your buildings without having it look like crap. I'm actually thinking of changing the candles back. They're really boring me. I'm planning on having more differences in the future, but for now, that's what there is.

Was thinking about asking you about that.. I love the candles for houses but only on the walls. For cave exploring and just lighting up a field it looks wrong. Will be nice if lanterns ever come out

Well then, consider it done. Unless I come up with something more adventurish. Torches bore me too.
This is my preferred texture pack. I use it all the time, it's got a medieval feel to it, and it is pleasant to use when mining. Not to bright, not too dark. It's like the perfect piece of chocolate or something =p

Update! I'm ditching version numbering to go to releases. I'm tired of feeling like 3.0 needs to be special. Have at it!

How is this the first time I have been here? Bad 42!
This all looks great. I had to double check the title to make sure it wasn't 32x. For me that is a sign of a good texture artist. If they can make the textures appear a resolution higher than what they actually are. :biggrin.gif:

Actually, I've got a thread somewhere for this...

As you can see, you're on your way to a fair pack. Some edits are necessary, but it's looking pretty good.
Unfortunately I can't test out your textures all day. Lets just say you're not nearly as bad as you thought you were.
Oh I bet she'll be thrilled.
I wouldn't say bored. I just don't have the time to teach as much as you'd probably like.

F'real? Shame on you.
That's solid praise from you. I appreciate.
