I possibly should have popped in before this, sorry mate, been in my own little world. I gather this pack is rather 'feathers' inspired? haha.
I like the look of things, the feeling of the pack comes across nicely, I like the idea, but it seems a touch too drab in places. Some of the blocks just kind of blur into others with the colour palette, I personally wouldn't mind seeing a touch more variety in the colour pallete, not too much, but enough to make blocks pop still.

but the pixelling is fabulous!
Actually my pack was around before feather's. The torch lantern thingie was the only thing from feather's. For some history, you can check out the old thread if you like. Its got a bunch of the old screenshots.
I've been slowly going through and adding colored shading to some of my older blocks, but I'm largely pleased with the terrain.png right now. I assume you're talking about the stone and cobblestone when you say the blocks blur into one another, and that is intentional. They are meant to be used to compliment each other. When the stone bricks come out in 1.8 I'll have another set to play with, and I can't wait.

oh no I wasn't accusing you of copying feathers, you can just see the similarities, You could say feathers is a bit like your pack :wink.gif:
as for the blur, its a visual thing, not a tiling thing. I like how the stone goes into the cobble, its awesome, but the colours for a fair few main blocks are in the brown, yellow, green pallete, which if used too much can be very dull (look at last days, the made a right proper job of making the dullest pallete ever) hahaha. But a lot of your blocks have some amazing highlights and colour as well, still keeping in your overall theme.
your rails and bookshelves look a bit like a blurry mess, they could be refined a bit better (especially the corner rail)
I am also not a fan of single flowers, they look well done, I just prefer a bush (completely my personal taste here)
your foliage, redstone torch and your dirt indeed are to die for, a very good example of your talent and ideas.
the ores, the only one I think does you justice is the diamond, the rest look like random splotches, perhaps a nugget for gold, something a bit more like feathers or glimmars for coal, redstone I have no idea, and lapiz perhaps 2 stones embedded in the rock... I dunno, I just feel like you could improve them.
sorry If I sound negative, just trying to add some constructive critique, its all my opinion so take it as a grain of salt :smile.gif:
I guess there's just not much in the way of naturally occurring blue or purple. I'll keep your comments in mind, but I've got to say: did you actually test the rails in game? The tie on the turn might be able to be a little sharper, but the rails pop very well already.
You've got some pretty nice random splotches yourself. I think ores are the thing people wish would stay the same between packs, because there really is no rhyme or reason for any ore shape, and they have to be relearned each time you change packs.
I never had any intention of including actual art in my pack. If I were to modify kz.png for anything, it would be for a more utilitarian purpose: curtains, signs, etc. However, I'm thinking there are some people who would like real art2 for their viewing pleasure. So, I am opening up my kz.png to you guys. Submit your own work of art3 and I will put it to a public vote to see who makes the default textures. If nobody ends up giving a damn, I'll just choose my favorite. Regardless, my favorites will be, at the very least, included as alternates and mentioned after voting is complete. Winners will have their names listed and associated packs linked in my first post, and all those included in any way will be credited within the pack's zip. Submissions must be able to fit within the standard 16x16 pack art resolution.
1 Not associated with the sports team. 2 Not to be confused with real art. 3 Anything more than noise and less than pixelated porn
It's not art but I've been playing around with redstone. I know minecraft doesn't handle transparency but blurring helps me more than pixel by pixel. My first attempt at editing minecraft textures anyways.
It's a little blocky to me but I like the wider redstone as well as the darker color. Eh, idk it's just something I'm going to use for now.
I realize I've dragged this whole post on longer than I should have. But if you could edit the redstone texture sometime, that would be cool.

Lol. I hate playing with redstone. It's so restrictive. But I'll see if I can do anything.
Mhm, just a suggestion. I'd love to see what you can do. I'll look around for art(No ideas right now) but I'm very poor at drawing small and sizing down
I like! Redstone is a little wavy but I'm feeling picky tonight. Flowers look great though.
Art competition? I'm not exceptionally great at drawing with image editing programs but I might as well give it a try. Hoping to see some art from other members as well!

So am I.
I wish I could animate redstone. That would make it so much more appealing.
Actually, I'm not 100% behind that health bar. Needs some edits. I'll also be returning to the diamond armor to give it some luv, soon. Then after that... mobs!
Oh, and I'm canceling that art competition. Nobody seems the least bit interested, and I don't care enough about having paintings in my pack to try and keep pushing it. Too bad. Perhaps some day in the far future, after I'm finished with everything else, satisfied with every block, and have nothing better to do, I'll try out some pixel art.
