I've been looking through the Default pack (downloaded from the link in the pinned post up there) And I cannot find placed Redstone Dust anywhere. Where would this be?
the redstone colour seems to be embedded in the minecraft code, in the texture the white parts are the parts which will show the red "glow" in the wire
