**** me sideways. I thought all this ******** was over with: Everything seems to have worked itself out. For now.

Not only did Beltir lock the poll thread, as seen here(http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/606316-texture-pack-forum-updates/page__pid__8093758__st__100#entry8093758), he also started this new thread that essentially rehashes the whole thing over again!

He obviously didn't like the fact that we were saying 'no' to the change, so he's trying to get a different answer.

Okay, well I'm off my high horse now. It seems they're going to rewrite the OP so that it is addressed specifically at modders and mappers. *faints from relief*

Same here. I'm loving everything about 1.8 except the chests (*cough*Itoldeveryoneso*cough*). I'm not sure how I'm going to deal with them yet. Maybe hack them with a diamond sword until they go back to the way they're supposed to be. :\

I found that it's the void that emits a trippy particle. It's awesome along with the new "flicker" effect of torches and the new darkening of your point of view the farther down you are (or that's the void thing again...not sure)

Haven't gotten to bedrock yet to check out the spectacular thing you mentioned earlier-- spent way too much time trying not to die from hunger, staring at endermen in fascination while they move blocks around, rescuing Kabonos from creepers...

EDIT: Found something *possibly* awesome! Check inside the 'environment' folder of 1.8 minecraft, there is a file called light_normal.png and it shows the colours that are used in the new lighting system. Does this mean they might be changeable? You could give some of the darker packs (I'm looking at you, Mythos!) a great atmosphere with green lighting effects and what-not!

I hope we can change it! I'm not a fan of how my stone looks brown under torch light.

Um....later. After I fix the **** 1.8 broke. And finish the weapons and tools.

Yeah, 1.8 is pretty slick. Stayed up way too late last night fooling around it.
