This has to be the most stupid and pointless action I've ever seen from the administration of ANY forum. It's a FORUM, it's meant for posting and the related comments. They're trying to use a structure you'd see in forums related to ENTIRE GAMES. It's absurd to force it upon texture packs and mods.
Hopefully they realize how stupid this is and don't go ahead with it.

anyways surely forums that have MORE THAN ONE use or purpose are much more versatile and advanced than threads which are a sign of progress from single topic based threads.

Oh yes, it makes SO MUCH sense to have all the little noob packs have 6 different threads that no one will ever look at and which will only clog up all the different forums with useless junk. Yes, that is definitely the way to reduce strain on the servers.
Apparently, they now want everyone to have at least three separate threads for their packs-- one for the pack itself, one for comments (sorry, no more feedback guys! You can't post any comments here), one for bugs (seriously? There are only about two bugs with texture packs, and one of them isn't really a bug), one for screenshots, etc etc etc.
If they go through with this change-- which is supposed to be implemented before 1.8 comes out-- I will be the obstinate ***** that I am and refuse to change a single thing about any one of my threads. And if they delete them, I will repost them. And if they ban me, I will return as Steelfeathers1 and post them again.
But as doing so would be a purely vindictive measure, used solely for vicious personal satisfaction, I would no longer be working on textures. As this forum is the only place I have ever found that provides any level of community feedback, I see no reason to continue texturing if curse makes it impossible for us to talk to each other and interact with each other they way we have been for the past month or so.
In that event, I will miss each and every one of you. I love you all (in a totally platonic way) and I wish you the best of luck in raining fire down upon Curse's house for driving the artists away.

So it only took me posting a thread in the modding section, having said thread moved to a forum I can't find, and getting banned for a little while, but seems we might have gotten somewhere:
So I've been reading up on what's been going on over here and the new layout for the Mapping and Modding section (which I hadn't been able to get to previous due to dealing with other facets of my life) and before I properly respond to this thread, let me lay down some stuff for you guys,

Now that this is out of the way, I'd like to mention that after reading up the restructure, and reading the first post of this thread, which had properly outlined what was wrong with it in an non-hostile and polite method, I pretty much disagree with the restructuring and took the liberty to bring up this thread to some staff members that are/were online at the moment and do not like it as well. Citricsquid himself will be talking to BluesteelAU later about this and we will be keeping an eye on this thread. No, we are not out to sabotage you, because that would be counter-productive. No, we are not plotting a massive conspiracy under your feet, because that would be boring. Just because we don't say anything doesn't mean we're not talking about it right now in a hidden place somewhere that will never be mentioned, ever. And in the end, those who constantly shout only end up deaf, while those who always remain quiet have the sharpest of ears.
In the meantime while you guys wait here about our next actions (especially the ones shouting THIS SUCKS RAWRGH THE ADMINS ARE HORRIBLE RAWRGH), feel free to link, discuss, and talk about alternatives in the meantime.
So! If this all gets settled and the plan is overturned/reworked in a satisfactory way, I will make you guys a delicious celebratory cake texture!

With the copyright one, it was to stop stealing or some bull crap. But this is pointless. What will it accomplish, other than pissing everybody off?

I have faith that they will listen to the community, and make the right decision.
