What have I been working on? Oh, you know, the usual: my tan, my winning streak at poker, that sort of thing.
....what? Oh, you mean what textures have I been working on? Oh, um, hold on a minute-
"Jeff! Hey Jeff! What are you boys working on back there!...what? I told you to stop punching those cows!"
I'll have to get back to you on that.
:biggrin.gif:
HA HA HA, gweeeeeep. I am intrigued by all of this. Minecraft promotes animal cruelty. It made me punch a cow that was on the road the other day. it was messy
Haha, well in all seriousness, I've been working on fixing some textures that bothered me (such as water and wheat) and fooling around with GUI options.
I also realized something: If I want to get more downloads, I need to get on the tex pack central list. Which means I need to finish the terrain png. So I guess I'll have to take a break from my vacation for a little while to try to get those blocks done.
(I also need to think of what to do for the pumpkin, since dorian swiped my gargoyle idea. )
On another note. I found the software that I was talking about for watermarking. It's called Digimarc. Sadly it is not free. However, it is kinda cool. What it does is imbed each pixel with a invisible serial number. That mean that not only will the serial number stay there if someone edits the pack, but it can be tracked as well. Not sure if it is worth it for a texture pack though. the service that includes tracking is $99 a year.

That was my thought as well. Maybe if I were doing this kind of think professionally or had enough downloads to justify it.
Downloads? Pfft. If I was getting enough donations. Or if people were flat out buying it. But I ain't paying that kind of money for a non-money-making hobby.
On another note, I'm taking a short break from this pack at the moment to work on a 5x pack- an actual 5x pack, where each texture is 5 pixels wide. Why? To prove to people that 16x textures recolored to be 1x or 4x do squat for framerate.

Someone already did that. Like, a real test to see if framerate is affected by what's on the 16x textures. Hint: The pixels don't count, the number of pixels does. In related news, the sky is blue and bears **** in the woods.

I know, I read their thread. That's why I resized the image to actually be 5 pixels.
I'm not doing it to prove a point-- I'm doing it so people can play with it and increase their fps.

In other news, I think I'm going to wait until I have a significant amount of material to release the next update. I'll still show you guys teaser pics, but I want you to have something massive and surprising to look forward to. :smile.gif:
ALSO: What would you think of me turning the creeper into something mechanical and grotesque, like an actual living bomb?

Idk, I'd have to see it, but whatever you do I'm sure will be perfect. I'm not good with "envisioning" mobs. But I did think of one think. Make skeletons wearing like old torn guard suits. Like there ghosts, a haunting.
I hate to be a nuisance, but the netherack is far too dark. I play on a multiplayer server, and we built a nether portal, and that nether portal cant support any lighting or be altered (like a spawn point) and since the netherack is too dark I can't see anything. D: To make it worse there are holes and it becomes a pain to find your way out.

At least they fixed the whole wool thing. Before you had to beat a sheep senseless to get any. XD
