I would like to respectfully disagree with Dorian and ask that you keep the doors the way they are, or at least not change them more than minor tweaks.
dont get me wrong, I like the shape, I like the idea, I just think they look wrong compared to the quality of say the iron door. I am not sure If it needs more trimming, hinges, something around the iron in the window... I am just not sure... and its just my opinion. As is yours :smile.gif:
(sorry if I sound rude I am having a frightful day, and I am awfully over these forums at times haha)
again, my sincerest apologies for sounding dickish ts19

haha, wow, I actually thought the iron doors didn't look up to snuff when compared with the wooden doors. But you're right, they could probably use hinges.

No, you're right, it does need something-- like hinges!! Which I will add. Soon. When I'm not so sleep deprived. Or at work. Or staring at the tread mill willing myself to exercise.

these all sound like much better things than smoking and drinking coffee. haha. So you are one up on me.
what I would change, is the cobblestone, i never was a fan of those kind of cobble stones.
but the cobble from your 'Lost Valley' is my favourite cobblestone of all texture packs ;]
but for the rest i love it!
Okay, I'm definitely seeing a community cultural split here around cobble.
Get ready for.... Natural versus brick!! Total cobble smackdown!
Just to do a head count, how many people want a more 'natural' alt cobble? Or a more normal brick style?
I can safely say I love the cobble the way it is. It's what attracted me to the pack originally. Would have no complaints seeing an alt to appease more people however.
If you're going to do an alt cobble, maybe have some color variation? In real life, cobblestone has a lot more color variation than I ever see in minecraft. I was out for a walk today and saw cobblestone with stones in all colors, reddish, brownish, blueish, yellowish. Most of the color variation I see in minecraft textures (at least individual ones) is in brick.
Something to think about, or at least file away for future packs.

That's actually a pretty interesting idea. There's a cobble wall near my house I can even use as a reference. ^o^

Well, from the responses people have given me, I think I'm definitely going to make an alt cobble for people who don't groove on the geometric look.

I say keep the cobblestone as it is, as Shoudai said above me, it attracted me to the texture pack too originally, it's a 'signature' part of the pack I think, if people want an alternate though, give them an alternate, it shouldn't be that hard, eh Steel? :tongue.gif:
Oh and kind of an after comment on the Texture pack list, that was a rather herpy-derpy thing for me to do, it's rather obvious after you said.
Look what's down there!
:cool.gif:
OMG yay! Haha, someone actually used the banner! XD
The Dirt and Water however could be toned down a bit they just seem too bright, unless you intend your dirt to have a high clay content? :U I think the water is just a personal preference for me, so you can probably disregard that. (I changed my water in doku Light to the Dark version water and it looks fantastic.)
Other than that this pack is amazing, it makes the server Post office look so classy (Classier ;P). The Glowstone is delicious and so are the doors.
Wow this makes the texture pack I'm working on look like crap.Where do you get the inspiration from?
LOTR to start with, believe it or not. Someday I'll get around to making that high fantasy pack...
After that, as I started making textures, everything just started to lean towards a victorian/gothic fairy tale-esque setting, which (to me) called to mind the original story of beauty and the beast (not the disney version).
That's what I'm going for right now-- victorian, with just a hint of magic. Later I'll have three pack versions: Original (what I'm working on right now), Beauty (light and ornate), and Beast (dark and brooding).

I started with LOTR too so I kinda decided a few weeks ago to make a medieval rpg pack but now I just cant seem to work on it that long because I don't know what a want the stuff to look like.

The water is...under examination. Sometimes I like it the way it is, and sometimes it just seems a bit off somehow.

Btw, what's the post office server?
Yeah, the colour is just too... Bright? Plastic? iunno. D:
It's the Post Office in the SMP server I'm on (read: Live on), we have a mod that let's you send items to people. The Server Owner asked me to make it. C: There's a picture of it in Dokucraft in the link in my Signature.
Sorry for not making much sense, I only just woke up.
