But it's not supposed to be RPG, and it is supposed to be victorian. RPG is a bit overdone, she shouldn't change the theme.
Agreed. I adore this texture pack! I personally don't like RPG themes, and most of the texture packs offered are RPG (it's kind of hard to find non-RPG), and there's barely any of Victorian fairy tale, if at all. Also, the show Once Upon a Time is giving huge nostalgia, it reminds me so much of this texture pack!

Then rejoice, because my own personal mod is nearing completion (for this current stage of development) and I should be free to concentrate back on Minecraft, but truth be told, I am currently doing some "spring cleaning" - I am clearing the ruins of a Pantheon building from Millenaire, and won't install M1.4.5 until the building I am putting up there is complete.
hey, steelfeathers, youre pack is amazing, but i would really like to see some mod textures in this pack.(i may be able to make some in the future)
kinda reminds me of glimmars steampunk, but with less cogs and robotics.
Indeed. For that reason, our coverage of Railcraft is extended only to GUIs - I believe that although blocks and gadgets for the Steampunk pack has been covered, GUIs are still not done due to the way Glimmar makes his. The closest you will ever get to Steampunk will be the Forestry and the Thermal Expansion support packs.
Been a month since your last post Steelfeathers; any word yet on when we get an updated version. I have gone through SO MANY textures packs trying to find one that is as good as yours and I am tired of looking through them all! I know it's selfish of me, but I love this texture pack! =D
In addition to adding in the new 1.4+ blocks, I'm also changing up a lot of the existing textures. Get ready for new planks, a new wooden door, new pistons, new trap door, completely new wools, new slabs (with vertical column CTM) and lots of other goodies.
I'm also planning on overhauling the GUI, making the menu buttons more visible, and adding a font. I should be done sometime soon, so hold on to your britches.
Some more new textures. Iron block, diamond block, circle stone, cobble, and trap door.
I'm not too sure about the diamond block. What do you guys think?
Dat cobble.... Muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch better than the last one!
Not so sure about the diamond though, might just be the star sorta bit in the middle, but the shading seems a bit off. Everything else looks fantastic though!

Yeah, I'm not sure what to do about the diamond. Here's the original one. It feels very amateurish to me, which is why I want to change it. But I'm finding it very hard to capture that spectral quality that diamond have.

Yea, diamond is a very tricky block.. I am yet to come across one from ANY pack (even derivation) that I actually like... The newer one you've made is better than that one right there though.
My diamond block is horrible and I want to change it but I have no idea what to make it... :/

maybe if you could make it semi transparent? I dunno. Diamond is shiny and see-through and awesome...dunno I like the Newer version. maybe if the center star thing were more like a Stamped Diamond into the block? dunno. and the anvil...could you make it look less like the default one? o.o I dunno how making texture packs work...so i'm just making suggestions
I dunno the problem I have with the new diamond block is that it looks a little too squared, with the details around the star bit and all (not too sure how to explain it). The iron block has it too but it's more excusable since it's a very industrial/processed look and iron is infamous for that. Diamonds don't really do that exactly. Personally I don't think the old texture seems that bad anyway, although maybe rather than coming up with a new design maybe you can try reshading it? Maybe that will make it fit in better.
Yeah the shading is too smooth.
Would make a great gold block though.
The shininess needs to have a faceted effect to it.
Like the "shine lines" need to be a little off center in places to give a faceted surface like a diamond would have.
If you can keep the caps form, it would look great, since it pretty much looks like an Art Nouveau font. You can see a version of this font in action on my own mod progress note here. Fo an early modern fantasy mod like this one, Art Nouveau should work out.

That's a cool font, but the numbers don't look like numbers at all, unfortunately. Which makes it unusable. Recommendations similar to that would be welcome, though-- I had trouble finding something that worked well. (Times new roman was another one I played with, but it was a little too boring.)
Also, I absolutely had to change the menu buttons because it was too hard to see the white text on the off-white buttons. Overall I'm very happy with the purple. ^^
This pack has been my favourite for a long time, you've done a wonderful job with it. Terrific that your back now and ready to draw those textures. In my opinion, the GUI and font together seem a bit dracularish, maybe change the font to something like this?
looks a bit more victorian.

Any thoughts on what you guys would like to see next? I'm on a roll with this pack right now.
Definently the items, and then mobs, and then armor. Can't wait to see what you do with them.

Would Copperplate or Matador be more to your liking?

Alternatively, I can try creating the numbers for you, but remember that I am quite busy. On the other hand, my mage tower is nearing 50% completion (managed to knock a good half of the walls) so I should be able to rejoin the crew by 1 January.

Unfortunately font like that is impossible to make with minecraft. Believe me, I've tried. There are limitations with the letter size and spacing, and dainty curves like that end up disappearing if they're too thin. It really is just a mess.
Copperplate looks worth a try, but I'm not downloading that exe file. It just screams virus to me. Besides which, fonts don't use exe files anyway. You might want to run a virus scan on your computer if you've downloaded from there.

Steel, Copperplate should already be in your computer. Just check C:\Windows\fonts (I think) or open up Word - you should be able to use it. If not, I can send the fonts to you.
Other fonts to consider: Georgia, Garamond and Constantia. Personally, however, Constantia-based numbers mixed in with Anglo-Saxon gets my vote.
Also, are you sure you want purple buttons? maybe we should have something more like green or plum, not outright purple?
