Glad you approve, Steel - I was a bit concerned that after the dust-up over my first iron golem, that it wouldn't blend.
Okay, Iron Golem, take two:
Top and rear:
Side:
On the march:
(countless silverfish died to bring you this intellige -- um, pictures)
Let's face it, I'm a hopeless romantic and a steampunk fetishist. To be honest, this guy was pretty disappointing, and I was thinking about scrapping him at first, but then I decided against it. Steel, if you want to try working on this guy, you can download his skin from here: http://img.photobuck...ager-golem3.png - if you really think he can work out fine, let me know but tbh I am thinking of giving you a 64x skin instead of the current 32x, since his swirly designs would stand out better. Alternatively, we might need to give him a brass finish-that is the only way he could ever make it into the texture pack.
On a brighter (or rather, sweeter) note, we have more skins up ahead:
Bread!
Yes, it indeed is bread. You have two nommable choices here; plain bread (for Minecraft vanilla) followed by sliced bread (from the Forestry mod).
I decided to add some brass sheathing, and this was the result:
(more images to follow)
Here you can see two versions of the iron golem: naked without sheathing (left) and the semi-finished version:
One of the things which did not impress me greatly was that it had too many exposed parts. Also, the use of yellow gave it too much of a modern feel which was at odds with the texture pack as a whole, so this time I will be trying again.
Bear in mind that this guy is still a WIP, and that I will be giving him a head soon, along with a more art nouveau makeover, so he will be all curves, bosses and filligree, and with fewer rivets.

I for one really like how it looks like that... maybe a few less rivets. I like the headless golem look, though, and the brass trim makes me think 'Victorian' without screaming 'steampunk'.

...actually, created is a bit much.... Thought of. That's more accurate.

I agree, it was always the rivets that did me in. I'm currently working on another golem right now, trying to get it to look right but so far no dice - on the othe hand, I will listen to you and do away with all the rivets, and keep it headless.
Still, this is Steelfeathers' flagship texture pack after all and we ought to wait what she says...

Definitely her call, I was just throwing my two cents in. And I wouldn't get rid of ALL of the rivets, just most of them.

Once more we're back. And make no mistake, we've covered 50% of all blocks that appear in the Forestry mod:
L-R: squeezer; biogas generator; rainwater collector; bottler; still
Introducing the squeezer:
It was hard trying not to lapse out of the Enchanted pack only to end up on an ersatz Glimmar-esque machine. The best way forward for this one was to follow the original plans for these machines as much as possible.
And next, the rainwater collector:
This guy is still a thorough WIP because I haven't figured out how to do the top section of this guy, but assuredly it will be done....soon....Nevertheless, he fills up with water over time (when empty, the bars are totally black)
(vending machines and biogenerators still need to be finished.)
Iron golem No 4:
Front view....
...And back and top.
This guy is still pretty much a WIP, but you can see we've swapped out the original brass yellow for copper red, giving him more of an antique feel. More parts need to be covered over, though, so it's gonna take some time before we have him complete. On the other hand I actually have plans for a whole ensemble of these guys, in case Steelfeathers doesn't approve.
(Steel, we really need a Mod Database page for mod support, unless you can handle the extra hosting on Rapidshare - I can't think of anywhere else I can do this independently, and if stuff is excessively downloaded from Dropbox it will shut down my Dropbox service for the month, causing a mess )
I really really like that golem, I would just prefer the orange parts be more brass colored and less orange. Other than that, it's fantastic. The forestry stuff looks great too.

Excellent! I will try to convert it all back to brass. You should be able to receive all stuff done so far on my part by Friday morning your time. Now that you have picked a design that you like, I can now redo the Thaumcraft chests.
Also, I will be IMing you on the new bread skins I created, once I sort the golem and the chests once and for all.
A question though if you don't mind. Are you going to finish it off? Like add more of the items? ; -; It would be amazing if you were still working on it.
Not all items and such are finished, although a few of us are helping out. At present Steelfeathers is busy with Dragon Dance. However, if you are willing to help out, I believe Steelfeathers is more than happy to see what you can do.

As a general rule, I don't use texturepacks, but saying this looks pretty darn nice is an understatement. If it weren't for the 50-something mods I use, I'd definitely give this a shot.

Oh, not to worry - we are in the process of adding mod support to this pack!
Granted, it doesn't have textures for a lot of mobs, this has to be without a shadow of a doubt, one of the best texture packs I have ever had the pleasure of downloading. The amount of meticulous detail you put in has made playing Minecraft immersive experience when playing. Oh, and the texture for the stone bricks and the wool, fan-FREAK'N-tastic. Keep up the good work :D.
Ladies and gentlemen, introducing our first serious foray into the Forestry mod:
As you can see, we've gone for an approach that is more in keeping with the austere appearance of the texture pack in general as regard to GUIs. We've also developed icons for more items as well, those being humus (block); bread; and beeswax.
Coming next: more GUIs, finishing off Thaumcraft, and some minerals:
So I came back to this texture pack and noticed that my mansion made of pine wood and cobblestone looks kind of odd. The cobblestone seems to have less contrast, and somehow the pine planks looks more pixel-art-like, so they don't really fit together. :/

I haven't touched the cobblestone, and those have always been the pine planks for this pack (although they're being replaced in the next update).

Ah, I like the GUI. I have to say, it looks much better without the bright yellow squares. ^^
As for the icons-- very nice work (assuming that they aren't google images) but far far too realistic for this pack. The bread in particular looks like something glimmar would use.

Thank you very much! I put hours upon hours of hard work into all those meticulous details, so it's good to hear that they are appreciated.

Lol! I've just made a loaf in my steampunk bread maker (of course there's no room for any other appliances in the kitchen), but my real world loaf doesn't look anywhere near as nice as that ...smells nicer though!

...?
I don't know what your talking about, I never mentioned you changing either of the blocks in some way. Anyway, it might be a slight change in style or skill, the pine planks were introduced much later in the game than cobblestone, and by the time you made pine planks, your style had changed significantly from when you made cobblestone. If you put the two next to eachother, they almost look like they came from different packs.
Of course, it could just be me, I worry a lot about consistency. (Possibly overly so)
Next update will be sometime after Monday; this time around it's for those with a sweet tooth - and for those with darker tendencies. Or possibly both. I bet you all can't wait what we'll be doing next for Forestry and Thaumcraft, but it will be ready as soon as my bandwidth revives tomorrow night!
Because of how user-unfriendly the GUIs for Forestry are, I've decided to try a new style:
Stone slab texture: indicates that an item can be placed in here.
Smooth stone texture: indicates that items will be produced as output here but items cannot be inserted.
In the meantime:
I don't think my kind of bread is the kind Glimmar uses, given he's a Steampunk guy he probably has his sliced But that said, would you accept something along the following below for a bread icon, Steel?
Yeah, I know it's from RuneScape (I'm a 10-year veteran myself) - but I figured that we could try something along the same lines. Still, I'd rather give you a cracked-top rustic bap instead of the 'Scape styled sandwich loaf!
OTHER NEWS:
More Millenaire support! books and scrolls are first; food comes next once I've mastered items.
Steelfeathers has given me permission to autonomously host mod support material on the Mod Database - I will be setting a page up once I have the finished for good all promotional materials for this texture pack as well as those for my own mods, Rise of Kings and Age of Darkness.
(yeah I know this has nothing to do with this texture pack but) remember this guy? Jonathan Yan found him a new home with the Futurecraft 16x skinpack:
I am admin on a server, and in the spawn town area I built, I placed a sign recommending everyone try this pack for viewing. In my opinion, this is the best texture pack there is.
