Would Optifine fix all the texture abnormalities, such as the water and lava textures over pumpkins, the normal spiders being translucent white, and the nether looking like water, etc.?

It will, Optifine is the only thing I have on my MC client, and I'm able to use higher-resolution packs.

Love the new textures you've been making for this, Feathers, they look great!
Are you going to be implementing more CTM in this pack? (you could have that wood trim on the edges of those new planks so you get the best of both worlds)

I am indeed doing more with CTM. What a wonderful world I've been missing this whole time!
Right off the bat I'm thinking of doing wools that have a carpet texture on top and a wall paper texture on the sides (so that they can be used for both). I don't think I'm going to do wood trim, though. As I've discovered with my stone brick trim in Dragon Dance, it tends to show up in some strange places. (Like on the front edges of steps). Which looks okay for stone bricks, but would just be awkward for planks.
I installed it once before, but I don't think it worked. I'm really not good with mods on a SP game - could you help me out a bit?
I really don't know how to help you. The only thing I can suggest is the usual procedure of downloading a fresh jar, getting the latest version of MC patch, and then patching. If that doesn't work, go post an error report on the MC patch thread.
I don't think you're understanding - the link to go to the patcher thread gives me an error, as if the thread got deleted. I'm unable to access it, that's why I posted here.

Well you were talking about getting a black screen when you installed it...

That's the usual symptoms of trying to use a 32x texture pack without a HD fix. I've used Optifine for almost half a year, and it hasn't given me problems. The reason why we do not recommend MCPatcher is because there are reputedly issues related to Forge incompatibility -- so if you are running multiple mods there is a good chance that your game will be adversely affected by MCPatcher.

I've never used mods on minecraft, and this is the first texture pack I've used. If the patcher gives me a black screen again, I will try Optifine, but I'm not sure how to install it/get it to work.

Well, Optifine is actually a mod in itself. The best way to do things normally is to install Forge first (so that you can play mods later, it will not affect performance), then Optifine. Do not forget to back up your Minecraft.jar file before you begin.

Thank you, but I got it patched last night before I went to bed, everything works now.

Cool, I went to bed shortly after my last post, so that's why I didn't help you out sooner. Optifine has a lot of cool features like removing fog, enhancing performance, swapping texture packs in game... I love it myself. But I'm gonna shut up about it now before I start advertising it on the thread and get myself in trouble. XD PM me if you're interested in it anyway, and I'll help you out.

Here are the harvesters from Forestry - please let me know what you think, Steel - I've tried to avoid Glimmar's overly rusty look, using only components that you crafted yourself. Unlike the original that had tacky images of spades, hoes and axes stencilled on the sides, this one has some machinery on its sides, which ought to help those unfamiliar with the forestry mod to guess what they actually do.
I have a question, Steel:
Is it possible to get animated blocks? I would love to see a way of getting these blocks to animate, especially the ones with fluid cells...they don't look great when they're static.
Modpack support is still going strong. So far, we've got the following done:
FORESTRY:
Blocks: 70% done
Machinery: 80% done
Items: 20% done
Bees: 0% (development for bees halted, will be done for Summerfields instead)
GUIs: 0%
THAUMCRAFT:
GUIs: 80% done
Animated Trunks: 100% done
Void items: not sure about this one, as no armour has been created ever for the Enchanted Pack, it is hard trying to create a suit of armour that would fit well with the overall theme - although Steelfeathers herself has given a few pointers here and there.
Hey Steelfeathers,
I am absolutely in love with your pack >w< I can't stop using it QAQ. It's just...alksjlfj So detailed and elegant DX
A question though if you don't mind. Are you going to finish it off? Like add more of the items? ; -; It would be amazing if you were still working on it.
I tried reading through all 270 pages to see if someone already asked this, but it was too hard orz
i REALLY love this texture pack. ive been using it since 1.8.1. the only complaint i can say is that i miss your old trapdoor texture. the one thats semi transparent. and your old chiseled stone brick texture, the black with the glowing red symbol on it was freaking awesome. other than that, in my opinion, this is the best texture pack of all time!

That's almost perfect. Make the face a little less silly (or maybe have no real face at all), and it's exactly what I had in mind.

But anyway, it's right at the top of the texture pack forum. Here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1496369-12w38b-132-125-etcupdate-921-mcpatcher-hd-fix-24/
EDIT: I fixed the link on the OP. Didn't realize it was broken.
Thank you, Steel. I will update all Railcraft and Thaumcraft GUIs for you, albeit it's a shame that the patterned panels had to be taken out

Yes, the first time I installed the patcher, it gave me a black screen. But I'm going to try it again, just in case.

(carpentry machine - tried to simulate the appearance of bronze, but it doesn't seem to work
(the crux of the mod, and a great deal of trouble: turbary, peat processor, peat generator, and bog earth)

(L-R: carpenter, fermenter and centrifuge)
(apiarist's chest:3-star accommodation for your charges)
(the real deal for your bees)
