Also, I made a light sensitive portcullis gate for the water entrance of your property :tongue.gif: No more unannounced visitors after dusk! (because it was such a problem before right? lol)
You are just too sweet! I'll have to come check that out. :3
I've been trying to beef up my redstone skills recently (I just figured out how to make a hidden spiral staircase today ^^) so I'll be interested in seeing how it works.
I hope all is well, haven't seen you around the sever lately. A LOT has changed over the last month or so, very much for the better :biggrin.gif:
A friend of yours, Kabonos hasn't been around in a while either. I know he would like some of the changes. There are no more silly item restrictions, no more convoluted application process and Barons can use and use /home. It's a nice growing community of people who love the game.
Kabonos seemed less than amazed by the capitol. I am always grateful for compliments but I do realize there are many far better builders than I :tongue.gif:. One comment he made was that I needed to build something that was not based on the basic 90 degree angles of the game. He actually said "something on a 45 degree angle" but I took his challenge for a little more than he offered.
It's almost finished and will be our PvP/Mob/Spleef arena... The AuthentiCity Coliseum :biggrin.gif:
Another person with a master's in circle-building. Where'd you get your diploma? I earned mine at the Institute of Spacial Reasoning and Extreme Patience.
and on a side note:
Feathers, is there some trick I need to know for texturing blocks that are "translucent" (i.e. ice)? I haven't been able to figure out how to force a texture to act similar to ice...though I have managed it so I know the code for the block is working properly.
I'm trying to post soemthing containing an imageshack picture of a screenshot of this with an added sunshine effect, but it says "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this board."

I...don't think you can use imageshack. Or something. Just upload it to tinypic-- that's what I do.

Create an ice texture that you like, collapse the texture down to a single layer, then set the transparency of that layer to about 60%.
Here we go. (Uploaded to postimage.org because tinypic was acting weird .-.)
(Large image!)
Here's how I did it, for Paint.net users that don't know how.
Take screenshot
Open screenshot in Paint.net
Duplicate normal layer
Apply a zoom blur effect centered on the sun sun or another light source, change zoom amount to your liking
Go to layer properties of the zoomed layer
Change mode to Additive
Change layer transparency to preferred amount (I chose 150)
Finished! (Merge layer down if needed)
Edit: I'm getting some "hit the dictator" ad that's making my mouse all flickery, and some download manager pop-up that comes up sometimes when I'm typing. (Only here on the forums.) What do I do?

Oo, very pretty! I've always wanted to learn how to do that sort of effect. ^^
Firefox. (inb4getchrome) They seem to have stopped now, though.
And I'm glad people like my screenshot edit. I thought it would have been a well known trick. :ohmy.gif:
Go search for Adblock Plus for Firefox.
It's a browser extension designed to block ads, especially the most annoying/dangerous ones, and you can configure it to leave in the non-obtrusive ones or to block as many as it can.

Curse PremiumYeah I figured that out...for some reason I stupidly thought .png wasn't going to hold pixel transparency values...

I use it for all my images.
Still getting dictator ads and ilivid (or something) pop-ups, though. :sad.gif:

I've seen light effects before, but never done in that particular way... I think.
Edit: An exmaple of this effect
Edit2: And how do you think both of these would do in the fan screenshots? :wink.gif:

I already found that as well, and was going to post about it.
I already reported.

Retired StaffThanks for the heads up. I reported him as well.
Ah yes, I think they would both fit wonderfully in the fan screenshots section. :smile.gif:
