I used painterly for a long time. I agree it is much better than the default but I always felt unsatisfied with how it looked. Nothing I could put my finger on though.

What the frick is with all this doku stuff?! Tydoku, gerudoku, ninjadoku, plain old doku (now deceased), and even bloody dokucraft: the saga returns.
If anyone else is sick of the flood of rehashed textures, please raise your hand.
It happens with all kinds of things sadly, not just art. Its disturbing how many video games have virtualy 100 cornily named knock offs of them. Like left 4 dead, I think every video game graphics style and every programing language has been redone with that game in some knock off already. People imitate what they like, but the complete rip offs with no originality are the REALLY annoying ones.
I really like your pistons. The gears really add a nice, realistic touch to it. I really can't wait until you start working on the items. Victorian themed items will be really cool to see.

Don't look now, but another doku rip-off just popped up. What do you want to bet that it gets more downloads in an hour than I do in a week even if it looks like crap?

Keep up the good work! :wink.gif:
Thanks! Years of painting classes really paid off when shading those pistons. Although I've never actually made something that small before.
I guess making pixel art look realistic is going to be a real challenge when I start on the paintings. Instead of merely resizing existing images, I want to paint my own-- including a moon-lit rose, a shadowy bestial figure, and maybe even a knight fighting a dragon. Oh, and some gen-u-ine landscapes-- minecraft style!!

What you could do is draw them larger then downsize and touch them up.
As for doku....don't get me started...

I mean, I personally think Dokucraft is a good pack. It really is, and I like it. But come on, people-- it's not the best thing since sliced bread. It has its good points and its flaws like any pack. But everyone seems to be caught up in this 'doku-mania' wave, so that everything he makes is automatically deemed perfect and beyond reproach simply because it's 'doku'. XP

agreed. He is a brilliant artist. But he has also never finished a pack or held any interest in helping out the community.
I think this pack is more winrar than doku's. His water IS awesome though :tongue.gif:
I really like the second blue wool shown in the picture there. It's has a nice amount of detail and not too contrasting, bet it'll look great in my house!
EDIT: Forgot to say, I think the cobble could do with some work. It's nice and all, but it just seems a bit more... boring? than the rest of the textures in the pack. Might just be me though!

'winrar'? I know that's a software for opening zip files, but what does it mean in this context? *confused*
Glad you like the wool! I'm a big fan of nice carpets. And wallpaper. :biggrin.gif:
OMG the new Lapiz is absolutely fantastic....as is the blue wool. The pack is just getting better every time you release something new. Can't wait for the items and paintings either. must say I'm actually enjoying and being inspired in minecraft for the first time in a long time because of your pack. One thing though.....please don't change the cobblestone, I love it so very much. Although I suppose if you do change it I can just use the current one. But then you're so talented if you do change it I'll probably love that as well.

Ok what was my point? Oh yeah, you rock!
I'll probably just do an alternate, more natural cobble. I like the current one too much to get rid of it completely!

Now that Doku's gone, this has become my main. Good job.
There's yet more to come!

Just an eternity or two. No biggy.

Curse PremiumYea.... It was my *incredibly* lame way of sayin 'win' AKA it's completely freaking awesome...
Anyways, this is what made me conclude my decision about the cobble:
And then my small mansion:
PS: Your leaves are the best I've seen in any pack, ever. Both pine and oak leaves. :biggrin.gif:
I completely agree with Dorian. The lapiz looks great! I hope the other precious blocks will be similar! :wink.gif:
Ok what was my point? Oh yeah, you rock!
