well i will be completely honest with you, the reason im not use your pack over others like johnsmith or random doku remix, is that your contrast is awful... not in textures but between them overall its just does not blend together. Some of the stuff are way to dark. It sure creates some unique atmosphere in it but that just does not compensate the distraction the contrast creates. Thats also the reason i don't use much jolicraft, but it has very unique style and coloring so its somehow ok, still summerfields is my choice over it just because textures "blends" much better. plz don't hate thats just what i think :smile.gif:
This pack is the farthest thing from dark you could possibly get. Same for Jolicraft. If everything appears dark to you, turn up the in-game brightness or turn up the brightness of your screen.
And if you really dislike my pack so much, why did you bother to comment?

Actually you COULD get farther from dark.
But I don't think it would look very pretty. :I
Hey feathers, just lettin you know that I'm doing a new build with your pack :smile.gif:
I'm not sure if it's as good as the other one I posted a couple pages back, but hopefully it will be as good or better when I'm done :biggrin.gif:

correct me if im wrong but i see a lot of doku's style influancing your style on this pack especialy in the water and ores.
I'm not a fan of dokucraft, so you'd be wrong. :smile.gif:
That 'style' for ores and water is everywhere, not just in doku's pack. For the water specifically I tried to make it look like real water, which has those criss-crossing shimmery lines. So yes, I am copying doku in that I'm trying to make realistic water. But then again, I'm hardly the only one.
ah actualy i've been meaning to try my hand at making a texture pack my self. just not sure where to start. have to figure out where im gonna go with it. any ideal software items i should have.

Wtf dude, i don't say i hate your pack i said i prefer other ones other yours and i stated why.If someone download your pack turn on the game and couldn't see a thing in the corner why would he bother turning in-game and screen brightness up if he could switch to other pack witch has it balanced. No wonder you cant improve your pack, you can't take criticism for ****. oh and don't come with some 'oh i can take constructive criticism' bs, you probably wouldn't change thing anyway...And when i talked about jolicraft i talked about contrast i general not about darkness, yours is miles darker than joli
Well I still don't see what you're talking about, it all looks fine to me.
And steelfeathers has indeed taken advice on textures and changed them as told, so I'm pretty sure she can take criticism. And steelfeathers' pack is darker than jolicraft, but I don't see why you exaggerate it with "miles."
Edit: And you say that she probably won't change it, but the way you're describing the problem it seems to be with the entire pack. You don't expect her to completely restart based on one person's advice, do you?

Let's be honest here: your criticism sucked. Using words vaguely, talking about how "contrast is awful" and things don't "blend", doesn't really amount to anything without clear examples, which you never gave. This leaves us trying to interpret just what exactly you meant, which isn't the way it's supposed to work. So don't pretend that the phrase "constructive criticism" allows you to say whatever you please. There is method to it, and your moderately coherent babble doesn't pass muster.
Btw, you're the only person I know who has difficulty seeing something and doesn't put up a torch, but goes and complains to the artist.
I noticed this small red bar along the edges of the sapling texture. Could it be something from the firetext?
Huh. That is quite strange. It doesn't look that way on my version, so it might be an issue with the customizer, if that's where you downloaded from. But I'll go check the terrain.png just to be sure.
Heres something I built over a few days. It's not perfectly symmetrical (the walls aren't the same length), so i'll never be happy with it but ah well. It's a bit bland in comparison to my earlier temples, but its bigger. And more end-stoney.
-snip-
yeah, thats a lot of screenshots
*speechless*
You continue to amaze, oh god of temples. Great job! :biggrin.gif:
Could you maybe take a daytime shot of the inner courtyard and that fabulous pool that I can put up on the OP?

Yup, it's a new moon. At least, that's what I textured it as. ^^
(moon phases have been completed for the next update, btw.)
Hey Feathers, the crafting GUI has been bothering me for awhile now, and I just found out why.
It's to square. You textured in waves and wrinkles into the cloth, but the outline is still flat. If you could fix it to make the wrinkles that would be great, thank you.

I guess I'll just have to smooth out some of the wrinkles then, because I like it square. :biggrin.gif:
Although technically speaking you wouldn't see ruffled edges when looking straight down anyway....

Retired StaffI have just the thing. I've been working my butt off on a texture manual that should be able to help you get started: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/659230-the-all-inclusive-guide-to-texturing/

Also, I was playing around with this seed: Water
-It spawns a natural survival island, but I noticed some sort of Lunar Eclipse or something:
Notch added moon phases and I think that it is supposed to be a new moon. Not 100% positive though.
