First off, after playing around for a while. LOVE the new mobs, I know hunt out spiders becuase killing their epic skin fills me with waaaay more joy than slaying creepers. Also, pigs are sooo cute. Not as cute as cows, but still very cute. And you snuck a few items in their too. I love the string, bone, and feathers. (any I'm missing?) and also, this:

I don't know if I'm going to be able to top those cows, but I love sheep, so I'll have to give it a try. :wink.gif:
Also, I was fooling around and discovered something quite epic: Enchanting tables support transparency.

Yea, that's awesome!
I'm now going to make mine look like an actual table. It's one of the last things I've needed to re-texture but I haven't had any good ideas until now.
Also, sheep are the secret rulers of minecraft so you had better make them look awesome. Otherwise I'll be disappoint and I have connections to some very powerful sheep! :tongue.gif:
I knew I shouldn't have announced it for all and sundry to see- I should have just sprung it on you guys without warning. That way certain people (you know who you are *cough*SHEEP*cough*) wouldn't be able to go stealing ideas.

That was a great discovery to make, feathers, and the table looks awesome for it too!
It just annoys me that Notch/Jeb don't do the same for all the blocks...imagine the possibilities...perhaps they made allthe blocks transparent and we just didn't realize. :blink.gif:

Well you can't make EVERY block in Minecraft transparent, or the game has to draw way more surfaces and then the lag is too much to play.

Sorry, I can't control it, it's like an obsession!

Are you going to pull a sheep too, Glimmar? *grumbles about idea thieves*
Haha, nah, just kidding. I'm going to have to post this discovery in my All-Inclusive Guide to Texturing anyway, so you guys would all be able to start crafting actual tables sooner or later. :biggrin.gif:

I'm pretty sure you can. Ever heard of this texture pack? It's an x-ray texture pack. But since there's no screenshots without going through adf.ly, here it is. So not quite every block has transparency but most of them do. :smile.gif:

Transparency and x-ray are two different things. If you have holes on blocks that can't support transparency (like the crafting box, for example) you will be able to see through the ENTIRE map, not just that one block.
Or, in other words, you really don't need to erase all the textures to be able to see down into the void-- you only need to erase one block that isn't transparency-aware and move it around as needed. :smile.gif:

Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
MY NAME ON MINECRAFT IS BREATHER!!!!!! IT'S ABOUT TIME I CHANGED MY SIG! BEST TEXTURE PACK EVAR!
so is this done or are the 'working on x/y' things still being worked on?
Ah, existential questions. How I love them. There are a few responses to this:
1) No texture pack is ever finished. A texture pack maker who declares their creation 'finished' is not an artist, and their pack will be shortly be out of date. But this is the existential answer and probably not what you were looking for. :smile.gif: Moving on!
2) There are a plethora of files that can be edited for texture packs, but some of them are rarely edited due to their obscurity and small impact on the game- font, for instance. So asking, 'is this pack finished' can be misleading, as many of the 'finished' packs out there are missing several editable files.
3) As this question applies to my pack: see answers 1 and 2. Is the terrain 'done'? Yes and no. Though I've done 98% of the terrain, there are a handful of shiny new 1.9.6 textures that I haven't changed yet, but the default textures are still on the sheet, so there won't be any holes in your world. Are the weapons and tools 'done'? Again, yes and no. All the weapons/tools have new textures, but since I'm working to replace current the gold variety this section isn't truly done, although none of the weapons/tools are the minecraft default. I could go on through all the different things that are in this pack, but I think you get the point. :]

Hm, someone should make a mod that makes most blocks like leaves. With both fast, and fancy versions. And have a few support opacity, like ice.

TL;DR
It's more finished than most. :3
I would highly recommend reading the entire OP. An OP a day keeps the doctor away, and all that.
Wait what? New golden tools? YEEEEEEEEES! However, I must see them, cuz I really like the new golden tools. :unsure.gif:
