I'm not sure how to go about saying this, so I'll just go ahead and spit it out.
My pet rat died today.
I know probably a lot of you don't like rats or are afraid of them, but she was my only friend in the world and now she's gone. I hurt a lot right now, more than I can describe. I won't go into any details, because I'll just turn into a weepy, snotty mess again, and it took hours to work up the energy to write this stupid announcement in the first place.
I don't know when or if I'll post any new textures. I might furiously push something out tomorrow just to spite the universe, or I might never come back. Although I think I like texturing too much to give it up entirely.
But right now I just feel too ugly inside to make anything beautiful.
So thanks for being great fans-- thanks for putting up with my craziness, thanks for giving me something to do at 3am, and thanks for making me feel worthwhile. You guys and your ceaseless encouragement is 90% of the reason I've continued for so long.

I've had pets die before, but I can't say I know how you feel since I never grew very attached to any of them. Although I do hope this hasn't been discontinued, I won't complain.

I think I can speak for most people (save for epiclinkfan) when I say, I know how you feel. It does feel awful* to lose a pet, especially a small little cute and cuddly one, like a rat. Take as much time off as you like, we can get by with out you. So just, you know, feel better.
Off topic: My house was invaded by rats once when I was a kid. Every sense then, I've been terrified of wild rats. But pet rats, on the other hand, I love. I love all pets really, except cats. I'm not a huge fan of cats.

I remember when I was 8, my dad took my 16 year-old border collie to go have her put to sleep. It was probably one of the saddest days in my life. I was only 8, I barely understood what death was, but I was devastated. I have two dogs now too and I don't know what I would do if I lost of one them. But I know how you feel, and so do a lot of other people, so you're not alone in that regard, trust me.
Personally, I think rats (and rodents in general) make great pets. I've never had one, but I've known people who have and they're adorable. They bring to mind the word scamper :3
Idk if you're religious or anything, but in my opinion your rat is in a very special and better place right now, filled with cheese and...I'm going to assume that rats like sewage considering that's where they always are, so maybe they like it, but maybe he's in a heaven filled with sewage, I dunno. Who am I to decipher the wonders of the universe?
Anyways, take as much time as you need :smile.gif: I promise you that everyone here will support you and be patient :smile.gif: your textures are incredible, they're my personal favorite, and I can't wait to see more, but if you need to take some time for yourself, then by all means please do that :smile.gif:

So sad ;-( You dont need to do any textures for us as long as you want. My uncle had a bird who i loved, then it dissepeared out of a window. I was very sad.
You're not being a drama queen, if that's how you reacted, that's how you reacted. All humans are different, which makes every person interesting (going off track... resyncronising...). But yeah, I didn't see that your rat died until now, and I'm deeply sorry for your loss. And I don't really see why you had to defend that you have a pet rat, I know you or her weren't bothered, and that's all that matters. Feel better soon Feathers. :smile.gif:

My mom hates rats to, that's probably why we'll never get any kind of small small pet (Guinea Pig, Hamster, etc). I can't actually say that I know how you feel since I've only had a fish die one. I do have a dog though. And I would be sad if he died. But at least you still have this hamster face --> :3 (that's actually the first time I've actually used that face.....). Feel better soon steel! And the big download spikes are very cool! I hope that keeps up, but we might need to let the dude know to put a link to to here and to the download. :dry.gif:
