I've gotten all shivery with excitement about this.
Okay, everyone! I need you guys to throw out suggestions of textures you might possibly want to see animated! GO!
Here's what I'm thinking so far (I'll add your idea to the list if I like the sound of it):
-Rotating gears on the sides of the pistons
-Cracking fire in the lit furnace
-Dancing candlelight in the jack o lantern
-Tinkling music box top
In other news, the customizer has finally been updated! Yay!
@Kabonos: Are you trying to patch 1.8? That might be why it's not working.
EDIT: Oh, and now that randomobs is supported, I'm totally going to spam you guys with mob variations. And with a dragon that has feathered wings. :tongue.gif:
Most of the everyday textures should probably stay un-animated, to reduce lag. I think only rarer materials should be animated, but the ones you have listed are great candidates.
If I were to choose a few textures to be animated, I think that a shimmering diamond ore would look nice to find in a dark cave. I also think that glowstone should slowly pulsate (kind of as if it were "breathing").

Also, I just had a horrible, gruesome, wonderful idea: What if I animated the soulsand so that the hand/bones shifted very slowly every once in a while, like something was still partially alive down there? *cackles*
Misa's new update has some wonderful examples of what can be done. I imagine everyone will be expecting we poor hard-pressed texture artists (:biggrin.gif:) will provide lots of exciting new animations, though for many it will come at the cost of a bit more lag...so probably best used sparingly.
I've had to learn this the hard way with HD custom animations.
If I read kahr's explanations correctly, if you make a 128x water animation it upscales all textures in that pack to 128x. I've not noticed it with my machine, but many others have suffered crippling lag. So just a warning to watch the size of your custom animated water and lava when you come to work on it.
Kahr specifically mentions GUI as being one of the things that increases the overall size of the pack if its size is increased. Unless I've grossly misunderstood something (which is very possible. :tongue.gif:)

You're using both the the better grass mod AND fast graphics. The top of the grass is shaded with the autumn biome shading, but the sidegrass on fast graphics is still just a flat, uniform green.

Chill dude. I haven't even experimented with animations yet. It may be that it kills fps, in which case I won't bother. :tongue.gif:
I swapped back to the original texture pack to use my brewing stands cauldrons etc, and it shocked me how crappy it is. I've got so used to your texture pack I genuinely can't play on default. So heres another thank you very much for the brill texture pack :biggrin.gif:
Is there any way you can just attach the original images for brewing stands/cauldrons until you've made your own, so at least we have something instead of purple shapes? Thanks :smile.gif:

I looked at the updates for MC patcher and noticed that you can now apply multiple skins to mobs so when they spawn, it will randomly choose one of them. :ohmy.gif:
