The only qualm I have is that with the health and hunger GUI, there's no "empty" icons...if that makes sense. So it's hard to tell how many apples/crosses you're missing. Otherwise I love it :smile.gif:
Okay, this needs an explanation:
To start, there is no 'empty' icon for the half-full hunger icon. It just uses the empty icon for 'full-hunger'. As you can imagine, this made my apple core look derpy, since it had the shadow of a full apple behind it. So I had to do away with the empty icons for the hunger bar. And since it looked strange for only the hunger bar to be lacking empty icons, I just got rid of all of them. :smile.gif:
Well progress on my pack is slow, but not as frustrating. All I can say is, good luck. Also, I almost got the nether done. I love starting with the nether, because you only have to do 3 blocks to see a whole world transform.
Thanks, I'm trying everything I can think of. :/

Unfortunately the rumor is untrue. You still need to use the HD patch to get rid of all the usual glitches.

I like the look of the update. However, I'm refraining from playing Minecraft seriously until my computer's screen is fixed. You're probably seen that already. ._.
Still, downloading for later use.
Also, I probably won't be here tomorrow - tomorrow's my birthday. ^^ I believe it's also Dorian's birthday. Quite the coincidence.
EDIT: I have, once again, claimed another page! :smile.gif:
Actually, I have discovered (through many rounds of trial and error) that even the most boring seeds get exciting when you travel far enough from where you spawned.

Well, the spawn is just a forest and a swamp. I mean, yeah, minecraft worlds are never boring if you travel far enough. XD

Feathers, have you seen the new animated blocks that kahr has made available to us through MC Patcher? Well worth a look! Again it means more work on top of Notch's new stuff. [groan] :dry.gif:
You're probably already aware of this, so just humour me and lock me back in the lab. :biggrin.gif:

....wat??
*rushes to go look*
EDIT: Wait...so does this mean we can animate any block? Like I could have the top of the music box start playing? Sweet! Must go do more investigation into this....
Speaking of seeds, the seed shibby has some pretty cool mountains. ...and yes I thought to use that seed after watching Dude, Where's My Car for the millionth time.
Misa's new update has some wonderful examples of what can be done. I imagine everyone will be expecting we poor hard-pressed texture artists (:biggrin.gif:) will provide lots of exciting new animations, though for many it will come at the cost of a bit more lag...so probably best used sparingly.
I've had to learn this the hard way with HD custom animations.
If I read kahr's explanations correctly, if you make a 128x water animation it upscales all textures in that pack to 128x. I've not noticed it with my machine, but many others have suffered crippling lag. So just a warning to watch the size of your custom animated water and lava when you come to work on it.

I noticed that. It gives credence to my theory that a good portion of how 'laggy' people perceive a pack to be depends on how visually smooth it is-- case in point, Doll house (although simplistic and with 16x terrain) has several much larger textures for GUI, icons, and chests so that I could get the smoothness I wanted. Which means that it's probably running like a 32x pack, yet people continue to comment on how lag-free it is. XD

Patch didn't work for me at all, but I like the idea. I think the only thing I would attempt would be leaves.
I've gotten all shivery with excitement about this.
Okay, everyone! I need you guys to throw out suggestions of textures you might possibly want to see animated! GO!
Here's what I'm thinking so far (I'll add your idea to the list if I like the sound of it):
-Rotating gears on the sides of the pistons
-Cracking fire in the lit furnace
-Dancing candlelight in the jack o lantern
-Tinkling music box top
-Shimmering diamond ore
In other news, the customizer has finally been updated! Yay!
@Kabonos: Are you trying to patch 1.8? That might be why it's not working.
EDIT: Oh, and now that randomobs is supported, I'm totally going to spam you guys with mob variations. And with a dragon that has feathered wings. :tongue.gif:

I don't think the gui's effect the lag, or things like the size of the moon or sun, it's specifically the size of the custom animation frame. I'd forgotten that my still_water strip was 128x! Meaning that single animation was dragging everything up to the same size. :blink.gif:
How the new animated blocks effect things I can't say, but I imagine some will push it to it's limit. :smile.gif:

Hmm, unfortunate indeed. It'd be nice to finally have HD pack support, but I suppose that's too much to ask from the fat man.
WHAT?!
Danger zone.

The GUI will be finished at some point. Not to worry. :smile.gif:
