There's some talk that a 1.9 pre-release might be coming out tomorrow.

If it introduces any new blocks, I'm going to have to shoot something.

"The Dark Ones" video may just happen now. I got a new editor and all (other one wouldn't work on my new system for some reason). So...if the new update comes, and we all can keep up still, I'll start collecting footage

As for 1.8.2 (or 1.9 or 1.8999999)-- I wasn't kidding about needing to shoot something if they make me do more blocks. I haven't even finished everything from plain old 1.8 yet!

Well, the 1.9 pre-release is out.

Remember how I said that I would have to shoot something if they added any more textures? Well, now I have to do some shooting for an entirely different reason--

1.9 (as it stands at the moment) sucks. Ass.

No bug fixes, no animal breeding, just a few **** mobs and swamp biome coloring that make me want to weep.

What's the point of making textures for a game I don't even want to play? :\

Like I said, I really hope they suddenly go, 'Haha, that was a joke!' and retract the 1.**** pre-release. But if not...well, there's no point in making items and gui for a game I won't be interested in.

I always thought that only god or Curse could make me stop texturing...never imagined minecraft itself would do the job. ;_;

Yup, 1.8 is going to be finished. I like 1.8.

Also, take a look at my mod suggestion below. I'm looking for someone to make a 1.8 mod that adds/ fixes the things that Notch promised to add/fix, but never did.
