Well, hello. This is my first Texturepack; PureBlue. I actually created this Texturepack for my own personal use, however, I realised others may also like blue. So, if you like blue, this is for you. As of now, this is only a 16x16 texture but I plan to upgrade within a few days.
Installation
This being a 16x16 Texture pack, you have multiple installation options.
1. Use the MC patcher (simple enough)
2. Apply as you would a mod (remember to backup)
3. (Mac) Just unzip PureBlue and put minecraft in the unzipped file.
Haha, it actually looks kinda good. I really like the stone. But there are some places where the blue just clashes. Netherrack, for instance, looks absolutely hideous. Maybe if the netherrack had more blue. Like, the base of it were blue, and it had some red speckles.
This is essentially minecrafts texture retextured to be blue. So your calling minecraft ugly.
@ funkdefied, yeah, Im working on it. Ive got a list of improvements for v1.1.
I like blue, and I like idea, too. However, as VeteranGoblin said, it's poorly executed.
I have never even attempted to make a texture pack, but I can give you some advise from my experience in digital painting and photography. If you're starting with the original pack, why don't you start by applying filters or colour adjustments to the png files first? after you've got the basic tune, you can start tuning each texture's hue, so that they look right. There's this concept called "white balance", which is essentially our brains doing some post-processing to the image our eyes receive, so that we can see colours out of the blue (pun intended). Try using different shades of blue, from cyan to indigo, rather than the plain cyan as seen in your screenshots. Play test a lot, so that your brain adjusts to the tune in-game and actually see the results yourself.
