If you need them, go into your minecraft folder, delete "bin", launch minecraft, and redownload it.
Then go back and enter "bin". Unarchive "minecraft.jar" so you get a folder called "minecraft". Then enter that folder. It contains all the textures you'll need as defaults, as well as classes which you don't need.
Just copy the files into another location, then edit them for your texture pack from there.
