The pack!
So, I've been sifting through the forums to try and find a Chrono Trigger texture pack, but I haven't been able to find any that keep up with the current patch. So, I decided to make my own.
The point of the pack is to replicate the feel of Zenan and Zeal's environments, but still have the textures tile and blend well enough to look good in-game.
This pack is a very early alpha version. I have the GUI, and a good portion of terrain.png filled in. I have yet to mess with armor, items, or mobs. Some 'finished' parts are still in need of heavy tweaking (for instance, I can't figure out why my moon is transparent when there is no black in the .png...).
Posting here for critiques and ideas, mostly to see if there is anything else I need to tweak before pushing forward.
I have a rather slow update schedule, as I've mostly been working on this in my off time, getting distracted, and knitting instead, but I'll be sure to at least update with every patch.
Previous known issues include smooth and cobblestone looking too similar, birch tiling poorly, and, of course, the transparent moon. I edited the stones and birch, so feedback on those especially would be greatly appreciated.
I'm still a bit of a noob to the Minecraft texturing thing. I would like to make an HD pack for this. It'd make certain blocks a whole lot easier, but there are others that just fit so perfectly in the 16x16 space. Once I get through the low res version and learn a bit more about this whole thing, I might go ahead with an HD one. That's a big maybe, though.
