Okay, I hope this is the right section to post this in, if not, please let me know.
I am trying to make my first texture pack, but have come across something strange that I'm not sure how to deal with, could anyone please help?
When I have an item in my hand in game, and swing it or use it, what I think is part of the next item shows up along with it. I've tried minimizing it down as much as I can, but it still happens. Are my proportions or directions wrong?
There's the item, the gray and gold object, and the black part is the problem.
Same with the one above, with the black object being the item, and the white part being the problem.
(FYI the items are wooden and stone sword respectively)
Here's my Items.png
And yes, I am using Minecraft 128x Extended as a stand in, I hope the owner doesn't mind, I don't know how to get the default one.
My second query/problem is that I set the background as white, but it turns out gray. Does anyone know why, and if possible, how to fix it?
I'm not sure about the black on your items but i reckon the gray beackground is because white is transparent. Try making it a slightly darker shade of white
on the screen shot i see nothing wrong and i like you texture pack let me know when your done =D and for the backround maybe your changing the wrong .png file

Thanks in advance.
I tried what you suggested, but it just turned into a different shade of gray x_X;
Thanks anyway.
Anyone know why this happens? D;
