I've just discovered Goo.gl. It's an amazing tool that you can use to shorten links and track them. It has numerous awesome tracking data (such as referrer, country, browser, and OS!) and an awesome graph! I was previously in the dark on the number of downloads with my Google Docs (now Drive) direct link. Now it's better than Mediafire in every way. Oh, and notice the QR code below the Google Docs link!
So please, give me some statistics to see ;D
Also: in the next update: new fishing rod icon, new string icon, new xp orbs, changed ender eyes in end portal thing, and new glint.png (enchant animation).
Just waiting for more changes to have a nice hearty update. Plus the only thing I can think to call it is "Misc. update".

I don't really like the dirt and side grass, they don't appear to match the theme of the rest of the pack.
That's because I haven't gotten around to redoing those yet....
They're currently just heavy edits of default, as I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do with them.
Any advice on it?

I was thinking the dirt should be based on the cool design that the stone has.
I was thinking the dirt should be based on the cool design that the stone has.
The design is already used for 10 blocks (cobblestone, moss stone, stone, ores, bedrock, end stone).
I feel like using it for dirt would make it feel overused.
I want to give it an original design, but still make it tile with the stone design (like how obsidian and pumpkin tops currently tile with the stone design).

Another thing is the clay. Its bright color makes it stand out from everything else. Also the red flower appears to have random black spots on it. Everything else looks great though.

OK, another big update. Big changes in the GUI. End portal parallax texture, updated Creeper and Skeleton, and a few textures set to their original sizes, and the pumpkin blur has been downscaled and redone.
The updated HUD I feel make the pack much better. Updated health icons and hotbar, although not the hunger bar. It is supposed to be an intestine (that becomes full as you eat) so it is unbiased, as most hunger bars are the image of one specific food source.
This took some time, so please comment and/or download!
EDIT: oh yeah, forgot that I redid XP orbs and included it in this update

hello friend X3 its been a long time since the last review and i would like to thank you again for all the advice you provided me to include in my video reviews with all of them applied this is your new and improved redux review 8D
Earlier today included the new creative inventory screen for 12w21b. It looks horrible btw, how it is loaded and displayed does not work good with rounded corners or shading. *sigh*
I've just included an update that restores the old GUI for it, that loads by default, and the one for the snapshot named allitems_12w21b.png, and it is in the gui folder.
If you are playing 1.2.5, you'll want the newest version that I just uploaded, and if you're playing the snapshot with the version I uploaded earlier today, keep playing, if you download it now, you'll want to rename allitems_12w21b.png to allitems.png.

The pack is updated to 12w22a, I just haven't gotten around to changing the changelog.
Another state of the pack address:
On June 7th (this Thursday) I will be done with this quarter of college, and be on a 3-hour journey to be home for the entire summer. I have not truly seen (a few times I was with my parents for a few weeks) my entire family for almost a year (about 3-4 months short). I will be on summer break. I am so happy
In June I will be doing light texturing on VTC (more than I have been doing now) as I should visit my family more, and I want to relax.
The closer to July, the more work I will be doing on VTC. Sometime in July near the 1 year anniversary of VTC, I will make a huge image displaying all of the neat features of the texture pack.
I will also create an adf.ly link so I can make some money, and release all of the unfinished (or non-finished themes) like paintings and villagers, so there is actually a benefit to using the adf.ly link, and it isn't just the same thing. Oh, and the link won't be in bigger text or first like most people make it
I will make a simple HTML website to go on the .ZIP (even on the free version) to replace the .TXT that nobody seems to read. It will have links to the texture pack, as well as tell more about it, and why I made textures like they are (like the .TXT currently does). If I make enough money though pay-pal donations, and adf.ly, I will consider finding a host for the website, so you can visit other pages without unzipping it.
This will make it so the normal download will continue as planned with themed updates so changes are clear, and will make it so supporters can support, and see future content, and play using it if they so wish. It'll be pretty much the version I use, I mean c'mon, waiting for the painting update, I have like 6 unreleased painting that only I see, just because I haven't finished a few of the other ones. So, I think the adf.ly link is useful, and it isn't like I'm some greedy scumbag. I mean, I see dozens of people using adf.ly links in the texture packs section, on texture packs that probably took less than an hour to make. That is their ONLY link, too.
I will also be changing my license agreement to a legitimate creative commons one.
So, if you like the pack, please spread the word. I like how this month I've gotten more downloads than I did almost all of last year, heh. This texture pack is only going to get better, so pull up a follow or a bookmark. Call over your friend that has been using default for 3 months, and your friend playing Minecraft on a laptop while using a 256x pack and wondering why his FPS is bad.
Commenting on the thread helps, too. This has been your artist, with the news of VTC.

I feel this pack is a bit too close to vanilla for my taste... It looks solid, but i can't picture myself using it;
Good (As usual - in no particular order):
-Noteblock/jukebox
-Netherbrick (The pattern is most intriguing)
-Netherrack (I remember it from the challenge :P)
-Cobblestone (despite it being the same texture and my opinions on cobble in general)
-Stone bricks
-Ladders
-Ores (Mostly - Gold feels too close to green, and iron could use brighter highlights)
-Doors (Though the iron might look better with more details)
-Railzz
-Resource blocks (Except gold, again - too close to green)
-Redstone Repeater
-I really like what you did with the biome-compliant stuff. Creates a really pleasant effect
-Planks
-Logs
-GUIs
-Tools and spawneggs
-Slabs
-Vines
-Fish and cow meat
-Musik Floppiez
-Shears, bones, melon icon
-Bottles
-End tunnel is badaaaaass
Bad:
-The gravel. I absolutely hate it. It's a gargantuan eyesore, what were you thinking?
-Sand. The color isn't right. Sand is less yellow and brighter
-Dirt. Again, too close to default
-Sandstone is way too yellow
-TNT is too smooth for my taste
-Bricks. They just don't even look like something you'd make out of clay. And the texture itself isn't very good.
-Glowstone lamp frame needs details and preferably a color. As it is now, it's ruining the effect, especially in the off state which looks flat
-Clay. It'd make a good meat block, but it doesn't look like clay at all
-Dispenser front. It looks silly. It should look more like it's part of the shape and not painted on
-Ferns/tallgrass. I don't like the shapes much. They just don't look like grass en masse
-Cracked bricks stand out too much
-Flowers. They'd be tolerable if it wasn't for those black pixels
-Water. waay too transparent
-Particles. I feel they'd look better if they were just empy bubbles
-Leaves. Again, too defaultish
-Tiled soil looks too out of place and doesn't fit the dirt
-I agree that the cobblestone texture is cute, but it's overused
-They haybale idea is nice, but the execution? Not so much
-Why is the minecart white? It looks like a plastic crate, and the icon is meh
-The sugar texture would work better for the sugarcare icon
-Soulsand. Too much noise, and looks out of place in the nether
-Armor. You can do better than that
-Spiders look like you just smeared paint over them
-I don't like the red thorns on the cactus

As always, changelogs are in the OP.
This update sure feels like a year of improvements, and I hope you like it as much as I do.
Sad to say, though, this hasn't been getting as much attention as I'd like. I barely get 1 download per day, and this thread always sinks to the bottom. I put a lot of work into this pack, for what feel like nobody to enjoy it. The hardest part is actually making change logs, as you might have guessed....
I'll decide what I do next with the pack, based on how it goes after this. If it drops to 0 downloads in a week, I'll do a soft discontinue where I still work on it, but don't update the OP and I lock the thread. If attention increases however, I'll keep updating and working on the OP, maybe even carrying out my original plans and making a teaser/hook image for the OP, and maybe offer some sort of support download that has uncompleted work. I'm not sure yet, though.
Maybe this update will make it more usable for some, as many things look much better. I'm still working on item stuff, but what should I do next?

Retired StaffThat's the point (in vanilla it blends in with stone). The red makes it much easier to find.
That, and It isn't too far-fetched for it to be so red.
