I tried this and it worked, this might explain why some of the ones I've downloaded never worked, I always extract the .zip folders when I download a texture pack and they work. I am guessing some you can extract and some you can't
No, you can't extract any of them. They don't work if they're not zip files. (At least not yet, I've heard talk about jeb adding functionality for unzipped folders in one of the snapshots)
Texture packs in unzipped folders is in the latest snapshot. I don't see any reason for people to do this when using packs though. But it is infinitely useful as a texture pack creator. I just edit my stuff in that folder, so when i need to test something in game I just need to load the game up. No more having to zip up every change I make.
*cryface* D'= i freaking LOVE this texturepack but i pull it in the texturepacks folder and everything i download it and stuff then put it in the texturepacks folder but i it never shows up and i have bee trying ever since i could instal a texturepack =( it sucks really bad D= i want to use it but it never shows up like i said have any idea what the problem is D=?
