"custom biome shading" ooooooooohhh. I must try it out!
EDIT:
How do you like my soulsand?
I've started work on a 32x pack themed after Kirby's epic yarn, and some paper mario. As I want this pack to have the same sort of "cute" vibe, I just thought I'd run this by you.
Looks interesting so far-- and a lot nicer than all the run-of-the-mill screaming face sands out there, haha. Although to be honest I've never played either of those games, which makes it a bit hard to judge how you're doing on the 'cuteness' factor from just soulsand (and netherwart :tongue.gif:)
EDIT: Don't get too excited about the biome shading-- it's mostly just subtle changes to satisfy my own pet-peeves. :biggrin.gif:

Well I was going to do just paper mario, but discovered that there's not a lot of good textures in it. I haven't played Kirby yet, so right now all of my images are from the interwebs. The hardest part is editing to fix tiling while keeping the fabric texture.
It's me again, downloading the new update. Wow, it's been a while since I've last seen this thread. Seems like it's gotten a couple (thousand) more views since then, eh? Awesome work, steelfeathers!
By far mine and the fiance's favorite texture pack. Love the look of the items/elements (especially the consistency between the stone and ore textures!), and the GUIs are great. Thanks for making & sharing it. Cheers.

Glad to hear that you guys like it! :biggrin.gif: It always makes my day when a new fan comes out of the woodwork.
Any plans to update for the pre-release 3 content (i.e., the Cauldron, Enchanting Table, Alchemy Stand, or the portal blocks in stongholds)? I know a lot of authors are waiting 'til the final release at this point instead of making constant updates every time Mojang drops new content. Just curious. Best!

I'm pretty sure I've already updated it for 1.9.3, but definitely let me know if I accidentally left anything out. :wink.gif:
And yes, I think I'm going to be one of those artist who waits for the full release to update. I just can't keep up with the amount of new textures they keep dumping on us. @[email protected]
EDIT: *face-palm* I forgot the cauldron. I'm update it as soon as I can to include the missing textures.

Right on. The cauldron was the first item I'd made it to, but I just checked all of them and the only other absence I see is the stronghold portal blocks (not sure what we're calling them yet). The "empty" or "un-repaired" blocks look fine, but once they've been repaired with an Ender pearl there's a patch of missing-texture where the pearl should be. (Can post some screens if my description doesn't make sense.)
And thanks, again, for taking the time to respond. ;D

You're welcome. :wink.gif:
Your bump actually inspired me to work on this pack a bit. I'm putting together a halloween update for you guys. Check it out!
I've also done an alternate spooky soul sand and a few fall flowers.

Ha! That's awesome, definitely a nice autumn feel to it.
Also, don't know if you noticed, but I think I was editing my last post as you responded to it. I did notice one other missing texture.. But I almost don't want to mention it now so that you can keep working on that Halloween update. ;b

Both types of 1.9.3 portal blocks are there, so I think the problem might be that you're using 1.9.4. :tongue.gif: But like I said, I'll put in all the new 1.9.4 textures as soon as I can. Your halloween update will be ender portal compatible. :biggrin.gif:
EDIT: Of course, it is very possible that I'm being a complete dumbass and something IS missing. If so, please inform me that I am a dumbass and show me a pic of what's missing.

D'oh.. I'm dumb. The blocks I'm talking about *are* from .4, not 3. I totally forgot that they changed the way those blocks get repaired. You're right.
Current features:
-Festive bed
-Spooky soulsand
-Zombie bone netherwart
-Jack o'lanterns (instead of TV's)
-Custom biome shading
-Cattails and bushes (roses and yellow flowers)
EDIT: Okay, so some of this stuff isn't so great. What do you think needs to be worked on/changed/thrown out?
Oh wow, that looks great. The whole color palette is fantastic, and I love the soul sand and festive bed. The sleeping pumpkins are cute too. The only suggestion I have is maybe trying a different window design..? I love the look of them as is, but I tend to change them in the texture packs I use because I prefer the visibility of having a single frame around each block rather than having them divided into four panes. That's pretty nit-picky, but it's the only thing I can come up with. I really really like the look of this pack. Kudos!

Glad you like the stuff! I'm not too happy with it at the moment though, so I'll probably end up changing things around...
Not to be mean, but I will never make a glass texture that is merely a border, because there is essentially only one way to do that design-- and everyone does it. Everyone. There is very little creativity or originality to be found in a single pixel wide border. Hence the reason I can't stand it. :smile.gif:
No need to explain, that's completely understandable. I know that what I'm talking about would be the least fun to do aesthetically and creatively speaking. Like I said though, my comment was completely from a utilitarian perspective. I make windows & glass blocks because they're barriers I can see through, not because they're pretty. ;b Cheers.
Finally decided to try a few bigger projects and you know what.. I stand corrected on the windows. When you cover a decent sized area with them, visibility's not an issue in the least. It just looked cluttered to me in my piddly little 2x2 windows and single-layer strips. With a bigger section, however, your window texture actually looks like a really nice bamboo or some type of lattice. Pleasantly surprised yet again.
