Maybe try adding a small ripple or wave effect to the sand. It can be very subtle but it makes the sand look a lot more interesting when you come across it. Another suggestion would be to make slightly larger 'chunks' in the dirt. At the moment it could pass for brown wool. I just think it would look more interesting with a bit more detail in it. (I know you're going for the smoother look but just *tiny* bit larger chunks would look great!)
that's actually a great idea. i will definitely make "chunky" and "wavy" dirt and sand alternates. thanks for the suggestion man.
Tools update:
Screenshot from my Paint.net work area thingy-majig. All of these are within their final stages. I'll be going back over them, adding 64x pixels to the edges to smooth 'em out a bit and to add some extra detail like cracks and all that good ****.
As always, suggestions, feedback, and constructive criticism is always welcome and desired.
So, what say you?
Things to consider:
The gold scepter is likely to have a halberd alternate (soon to complete)
The fly-fishing pole is within it's first stage. (I literally just drew it)
Stick is subject to change to a more rugged looking thing.
I realize the stone hatchet still needs some lovin' (better gradation and such)
I'm particularly proud of my axes, especially the wood, stone, and iron axes. I feel the gradation was a success and a half.
the latest update makes extreme lag, I get between 1-5 fps. WTF?
I haven't noticed any change in performance since the update on my lappy. If the new update doesn't fix it then I might just stab myself cuz we can't figure out what it could be. To others: give some feedback on whether or not your having this same issue in performance drop as well.
Notice the litle gray thing on the diamond sword that floats in front of it.
Except that this may be my new favorite texture pack. Good Job! to you
it doesnt happen for me so i think it might be the mod your using that makes the items look glowy. the iron sword touches the very edge of where the diamond sword starts and it may be leaking some of that glow onto the diamond sword's square. still i can fix this for you i think, double check and let me know if any other items have it. i'll shave the iron sword and upload a new "fix" version for you.
Edit - here ya go. just lemme know if any other items have the same problem. to anyone else, only download this fix if you are having this problem. otherwise it's pointless. item fix download
I like this pack :wink.gif:
I`ve made this video about it.
Feel free to use it for any demonstrational purposes if you feel like it :smile.gif:.
Awesome! Very cool. This is very flattering, thank you. What's embarrassing is that we actually have so much more finished than what you show in that video, but have yet to upload it all to the forum for people to download. We should have been quicker. Anyways, very nice. Thanks a lot for your support. Many new things soon, so check back in a few days and we'll have many more great Swiss textures for you to show off for us.
Thanks again, dude!
This video will go into our original post.
your pack is looking really good.
keep up the great work
Many thanks mein freund.
As a fellow 128x artist, I'm sure you understand the migraine inducing time and effort required to make these packs a finished product. We work hours a day, punching our keyboard and mouse until these textures work for us. We're both very much perfectionists so we know that our work will pay off and all you minecraft guys will have way of experiencing Switzerland at home. Well, if your home isn't Switzerland that is. Derp.
