Okay I know I said I liked the old Netherrack but I *LOVE* the black! It's different, but very Nethery.
And I am 100% completely THRILLED with your diamond block! It makes me want to make some sort of creepy, crazy contraption to hold diamonds in the center of a high-tech glass building. o-o
Also, I wish you'd hurry and do the cake! :biggrin.gif: I want to see a gothicy cake.

ahhahaha. Indeed, there is a lot of work to be done. Life has been to busy lately. I have an income now, and soccer season is over, so I may be able to settle down a little bit and actually work, instead of leaving you all in the dark without any reasonable updates.

I am a touch disappointed to see that there is NO unique items (swords etc) in the terrain sheet. It seems a bit dull to just add more environment stuff... So I am majorly less excited for 1.8 than I was.

I dunno, better dungeons, strongholds + 3 new mobs + better combat and harder healing mechanics?
I think I'll be thouroughly amused! Adding in new weapons would be cool, but the 'adventure update' isn't going to be finished until 1.9, this is just half of it. Maybe you can buy new weapons from the NPC villages? :biggrin.gif:
There's also the new terrain generation features such as rivers, bigger and better biomes that are getting me excited too.

the terrain is all good, I am excited for that. But why would I want to go to a stronghold? whats the point if all I am going to get... is diamond or items I have been able to get for over a year now? I am liking the sounds of the changes I really am, just when he said adventure, I thought something more interesting than MORE NEW LANDSCAPES!!! lol. As I have seen landscape, and seen a lot of it. What I want is a better sword, boss fights and something more interesting to do when I go adventuring than mine for diamonds :tongue.gif:
Just thought I'd say, cobwebs will be in strongholds, also you'll be able to fight new spiders, which will probably have a new drop. The landscapes will also change dramatically with 1.8, including bigger mountains and rivers; it will be 'New Landscape' :tongue.gif:. And Jeb has said boss fights in Strongholds might happen in the future. :smile.gif:

D'aww, your idea is completely valid though! I think it's a really interesting touch. I also saw a glowy blue block somewhere that I assume was the pumpkin. You have a real talent for taking not-so-spooky things and turning them into something...spooky. :tongue.gif:
If you really wanted to do a cake, you could do a red velvet. I found out that while making my texture pack's red velvet cake, it's really hard to not make it look like a hunk of bloody mess. o.o

Yeah I have seen those cakes. I was thinking of doing a pillow with a jewel on it too. Or perhaps just a regular mud cake. Down the track I may do them all. Right now I need to actually knuckle down and do some work.

also Its 8/9/11 <--- correct format for dates :wink.gif: silly americans. hahaha.
and 1.8... yes... except I have no idea what some of the blocks are. I am also away from my graphics PC, so it will have to wait until next week.
