So. Here's the deal. I've been working on texturing and such for a couple of months
now and out of no where a few nights ago, I just got it. Like, out of the blue. Out
of no where, the detail I was waiting for, just appeared in my creation.
*Just before I go on with my comment, the GUI looks nice. Not overworked, which
is not a superb, nor horrible thing; quite frankly it will work. The gold selector
thingamabob is a bit big for my liking. I'm afraid it might obstruct the view
of the selected item, but they're not created, so it doesn't matter much.
Anyway, I just made these planks in a solid 40 minutes and I was thinking
of who's the most qualified to comment their thoughts on them. I came
to the conclusion that probably you, Steelfeathers, and the others, who like
me parade your packs due to their straight up awesomeness, would give the
much helpful feedback I am desiring.
I think the deciding factor was the resolution, you guys seem to have
mastered the 32x slot.
To get to the point...
Thoughts? Increase saturation, hue, etc. I don't really think I want to go with
a darker-styled pack, but whatever. I doubt I'll even use this texture. Probably just
a starter, that will be redone.

It looks good, could use a bit more grain in the wood I think, perhaps a tiny bit of noise. The highlighting and shadows gives a cool effect of overlapping, if that was your intention. How does it tile? also I am not sold on the divider on them, as they are such broken/random planks.
(just tinkering...and you guys are the best/most active audience round here)
:tongue.gif:
Looking awesome. Personally I don't mind the lighter chests, but I can understand
the viewpoint on how it's out of place with the style of the cobble and furnace, and
such.
Anyway, here's a lighter plank I just made up, with normal dividers, and a tint
of noice:
