DorianGREY326, great work! This pack has the RPG ambiance that doku and johnsmith gave to the community, but with a dark fantasy twist that makes it both distinct and impeccable.
From what I can see, the only feedback I can give is that the tiling in the dirt tiles is somewhat obvious when duplicated in vertical terrain environments. The block is perfectly seamless of course, but the contrast in the middle of the texture provides an artificial pattern when replicated, especially when seen at a distance. I think some tweaking in contrast without touching hues would help to overcome this.
Keep the goodness coming man, cheers...^^
Doesn't everything generate an artificial pattern in some way or another?...
Even if something tiles seamlessly it still has a pattern lol...

I know exactly what you mean, And I have been working on it today, I almost got it, but still wasn't quite satsified. I will have another crack tonight possibly.
Just got done using your pack in-game, and I am really liking the feel of it! I also added some depth to my cobble, will post tomorrow. Thank you so much for all of your suggestions and help. On that note, I am off to bed because its hard to work in photoshop at 3am.

The name's Hyp, and I am trying to become a better artist!.
Yep, and thats the real pickle behind it too. If you generate too much contrast in a texture, then that contrast when duplicated and seen in a distance deters the immersion landscapes give to the player. If you remove detail/contrast so as to have a uniform result in many distances, you make concessions that again subtract from the immersion. So...you have to compromise at most times. Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder though, so to one player a pattern may seem distracting, and to another game enhancing or beautiful. =D
Excellent. Keep the goodness coming man, cheers...^^
Will do. Hopefully 0.8 is not to far away for all to enjoy and there is some BIG improvements.

Night mate. Fresh day for textures tomorrow :smile.gif:
I love this pack's vibe.
Critique mode activated:
The cobblestone Seems to be a bit off in the tone and hue from the smooth stone(a bit darker and perhaps more blue). They don't really look like they're connected. If you wanted to change this, it's just a simple hue and value edit, considering the actual textures are pro mode.
The ores are really great, except the diamond ore is goddamn gigantic. I look at it and think I should get like a stack of 64 diamond from harvesting that block. Simply shrinking the ore in the block would fix that issue.
Other than that, I honestly can't find any other possible issues. This is a completely unique and expertly drawn pack that I find to be one of the few "good packs" in this forum.
Props and pizzas for you, sir.

ahhhh excellent feedback...Smooth is actually yellow, gray, red, so thats where I took the cobble a bit more. 0.8 should solve that issue but if it still persists then I will look into it again then, thanks for pointing it out, I love that kind of feedback.
The diamond would be great resized down... if ... if i hadn't stupidly saved a merged copy instead of my 20 layer psd file.... fail on that account. I may have to redraw it smaller.... or I could just leave it so it gets peoples hopes up and then sends them into a spiralling pit of depression when all they get is one measly diamond from it. An alternate may be in order.
the rest of you post is just blatant flattery.... and it will get you everywhere! haha. thank you man, you make my head explode with gleeeeeeeeeee.
slowly. Currently having the issue that my avatar is not updating, and I think I know why and I am 90% sure this is curses problem. As it says I have the new avatar in my settings but does not show up for me in the forums.
Other than the pack.png and a few very very minor colour tweaks I haven't done anything since I reformatted yet. I will though.
the skull with the worm? I see it. It is great. Digital or non?
then why cant I see it. BOOOO HOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
its digital, 128px worth of painting. I used a reference image to base my shapes off, but it is 100% hand drawn. I might go flush my cookies and reboot, since my comp was trying to recover my SP minecraft saves last night. (to no avail!)
this also means I no longer have my world to take screens in, the one that I built specifically for this pack and 100% legit. Sometimes the world just wants to rain on you.

thats ok mate, feel free to PM so you don't seem like your spamming up the thread, but as your giving me free bumps I am easy either way.

it does. But I prefer to not be able to count the blocks from a distance well. I know what he is talking about :smile.gif: so you are both correct.
Will do. Hopefully 0.8 is not to far away for all to enjoy and there is some BIG improvements.

Interesting Idea, perhaps an alternate down the line. Thanks mate.
a bit weird? not quite convincing enough. What makes them weird? shapes, colours, highlights? :smile.gif: thanks for the feedback.
That would be a shame.

also, teeny update, I have an avatar that I made now (yes its ****, but I enjoy the wormmmmm)
and a pack icon
olden days sounds reasonable, now you just have to theme your pack around it :smile.gif:
