OK, so much to get through. Alternates are something I will look into at 1.0 before then people will just have to deal with changes, as it depends what ends up looking good for the final pack and what people want as alternates so I can refine them so I don't have dodgy textures in the pack.
The wool I have always planned to be decorative blocks, but figured people would want main textures done before I start doing those. But I like your ideas :smile.gif:
Pine wood is one of MY favourite textures, but I understand peoples disdain for it. I will do an alternative when I start getting into doing those.
The whole terrain sheet will have a colour tweak when all the textures are certain for 1.0 so the big release (fingers crossed) everything in the terrain will be that little bit more superb.
I just got another PM from you with a password and a version 0.8 pack. Is this a new update, or has the pm system fouled up again? (it's been going awry recently XP)
On another note, I'll have to see your animated water in game before I can make a declaration. Unfortunately, from the pictures it does seem a little 'grassy'.
Oh, and how DO you make animated water??? I want to make some for my pack, but I don't know how...
bricks, diamonds, animated water, tweaked colours on a few things, bedrock, tnt... im sure some others. But yes it is a new version for testing. thanks feathers.
The still water? yes I know, its a temp at the moment. (I also fixed up your quote)
But now it makes me sound like a ****! I mentioned that because at the moment I can't really see anything wrong with the current textures. So I had to nit pick a bit :tongue.gif: .
Granted there will always be textures that I'm not a big fan of, but the execution seems solid so far.
Will test out changes tomorrow. Very drained right now from all the drama today. 0_o
Thats ok. Also not being in that thread the whole day and going into it with a level head, I will be staying for the changes to the forums, with the use of a proxy my pack will always be covered, it is easy to put a license down for me, and I like that they want to be active. It will be bumpy yes, but one foot in front of the other and this will become a better place for all.

At least unlike the forums for the last game I played the admins are actually TRYING

Hey, sorry it took so long for me to test out the newer version of 0.8. But now I've found some time to play around with it, and here are my thoughts:
-I want that dimaond block. I'm going to steal that diamond block, and replace it with the infinitely inferior diamond block I made, because yours is light-years more awesome than mine. The diamond sparkles in all the right places and really screams 'diamond' (which can be very difficult to do), and the housing is pixel perfect.
-I still think your bricks look a little too shiny-- they need more noise or something, because those highlights are just a tad too smooth and liquid.
-Your pumpkin still scares me. Maybe you could get across the gargoyle theme more clearly by adding wings or arms or something on the sides. It also doesn't really look very much like stone at the moment-- for some reason, it reminds me of a wrinkly old fruit.
(I do like the idea of having a gargoyle, though-- another idea of mine you stole!!)
-Long grass looks amazing. As do your flowers-- I love them both so much now.
-It could just be me, but I think the wire housing framing the flame on the torch should be darker. Right now it kinda blends in with the textures around it:
This is going to be the next dokucraft! Just a quick tip. Can you make the breaking animation slightly more transparent and make the animation normal because when you start hitting it goes nice and slow then it speeds up and looks pretty bad. Good job!
So, If you happen to have any tips or tricks for creating a texture pack I would gladly take them and record them here. I am starting a large tutorial thread. :biggrin.gif:

ah yes on my list of things to do. IT was just a test that one to see how it worked.

Wow, this looks simply amazing! It gives off an awesome RPG/Medieval feel, while adding in a bit of realism AND fantasy. It's hard to explain, but this pack has pretty much combines all the awesome styles into one pack that's just bursting with epicness.
Ahem. *gets a hold of himself* The pack looks great, except for a few things: The oak logs look like deformed leather, the stone slabs look like plastic sort of, and the smoothstone is kind of wavy.
Other than that, this looks great, and I'll definitely be trying it tomorrow (5:21 AM isn't a good time to try out a texture pack/review it).

The stone wont be changing any time soon, but perhaps down the track an alternate may come up. (also smoothstone does not exist)
Deformed leather you say about the trees, I don't see it, or are you talking about pine?

Of all the pack I have (about 15) yours makes the manor (the first of the screen shots) looks the absolute best.

What about cement?
perhaps, I just like some texture to my stone. I have an alternate 'rough' stone that just needs some tidying up to use as an alternate.
