BACKGROUND:
Some time ago, I lost interest in updating The Cel-Pak (sorry to anybody who still uses that!), and as it started to fall further and further behind, the need began to arise for me to either update it or switch packs.
I chose to switch packs.
I found quite a few packs that I liked, but none that quite offered what I wanted.
DESCRIPTION:
So, I set out to start putting together something I liked. I started with a base of Ovo's Rustic Pack. I downscaled it (most of it, rather) to 32p (from 64p), then took HDcraft's items, a couple items from LB Photorealism (namely, cake) and JohnSmith's pack (namely, TNT and parts of the GUI), and merged them all together with my own Cel-Pak-based edits. I brightened a variety of textures, customized a number of others, and ported in designs from The Cel-Pak for things that either weren't what I wanted from the others or didn't EXIST in the others.
What emerged is a semi-realistic, semi-Default-faithful, high-visibility pack that is superb for pixel art AND beautiful for building and exploration. It's true to the original mission of The Cel-Pak, but rather than shooting for extreme simplicity, it now aims for beautiful detail as well.
As of right now, ALL assets are included, but they aren't ALL exactly what I'm looking for yet. Some items still need scaled down from 64p (boats, signs, flames, etc), while others need scaled up from 16p (mobs, armor). As it stands, it looks great, but it's not ENTIRELY complete. I'm releasing it as a v1.0 BECAUSE it has everything it needs already, though.
Let's have a look.

What did you change from Ovo's 64x Rustic Pack? From what I see you've
added someone's font, used John Smith and Scuttles items, and more or less
made a blurry 32x version with base textures from a 64x pack.
Also I am aware that Ovo does not have internet connection at the moment
because of a job he's working at, so I doubt you've been given permission...
Have you been not up to date with the craziness which is not receiving permission from others
work? If so, I believe you can find out how to message the real authors through their pack's
text.
It would be a shame if this was forced to be taken down, so just receive the permissions
and those who go insane about this stuff won't come "trolling"...
I've edited quite a few of his items. All ores are made more like the Cel-Pak's, I've edited every single wool's colors, changed the door slightly, and tweaked to some degree (some very majorly, some only slightly) the glass, glowstone, metal blocks, snow, music box, ladders, sponge, bookshelves, leaves, birch wood, obsidian, gravel, and netherrack.
Additionally, yes, I have received permission to use the textures in this pack. I haven't been directly given permission by Ovo, but he specifically states in his texture pack's file that anybody is free to use his textures in their own packs, so long as it's respectful to him and he is given credit. Both of those are 100% true, so actually asking him isn't necessary.
I'd appreciate if you'd do your own research before make condescending accusations of someone else, particularly someone who's been around for far longer and knows his way around the workings of texture pack authoring. The Cel-Pak is the most popular simple texture pack in the MC world, with over 50,000 downloads. Thanks, I know what I'm doing.
