I'm back with the adventurecraft update coming out. I haven't played minecraft that much since I left, but with this new content coming out I'm excited to be playing again. I have started working on some new textures and improving old ones for Candycraft. As far as the Aether goes, I will likely leave that for themarsh, I sort of like the idea of the aether not being like candy, so I might try doing a regular style texture set for that. I think it might be a cool way of being able to mix more normal looking environments with candycraft. Currently I'm trying to work to make trees feel better. as it is pines must be green since the biome images cannot be changed for them. So I've worked out a new leaf texture for it and made the wood green candycane. I have a lot of improvements planed to make the pack more uniform and less of the eye sore it can be at times.
I'm not sure exactly how long it will take me to get all the textures ready. I'm trying to work out what some of the new textures are as well. Hopefully I will have things ready by or soon after 1.8 is officially released.
I like the red candycane blocks; what block are they replacing? Does this mean that the once candy loaded Candycraft is going to be toned down to something in the sort of a normal texture pack with bit and bods of candy around? Does this also mean no more pink striped trees (those were the only trees I liked aside from the ugly leaves)? Personally, I use this pack to escape from normal, boring textures so I hope Candycraft maintains its' sweet tooth.

I believe the red-ish blocks are replacing the wooden planks and the blue-ish blocks are replacing the lapis lazuli blocks.
Its going to remain all candy, the red cane is just the wood planks made more uniform and smoother. Here's some other photos of changes I've been working on. Let me know what you think of the progress.
I'm trying to work with the making a biome for foliage since the birch trees don't work with the foliage biome texture. Heres some pictures, I'm not as happy with it as I'd like but it makes the birch look nicer at least. Things would be much easier if i could change the birch tree colors.
the bottom picture is a watermelon and iron bars as well as the changed iron door.

I like the already installed blue lapis lazuli blocks. I can't really tell the difference between the new and old ones. I really like the trees! I thought the pink striped ones were going to be eliminated !!! Many of the homes I built are very out-there haha. The wooden planks that are currently installed reminded me of christmas so I do like the subtle change for a bit of a change-up. I have to admit I was a bit nervous as to what was going to happen, but I am now very excited to see the end result.
Also, what is the pink and green block? new sticky piston?

Will you be changing the Gold and Diamond blocks? Personally, I find them to be the least appealing. Sorry for all the questions. I might need to tone down the excitement. Anyways, best of luck to you in creating and I really do love the work put forth by both of you.
I think the pink and green on you are mentioning is what watermelons are for the moment, I'm to to happy with it though. It can be hard to make everything look like candy. Whenever i did all the gold, iron, diamond blocks I had thought to make them look like expensive candies. If you have any thoughts on some better designs for them maybe even making them patterns for decorating with, let me know. Below is the mushrooms and fortress blocks in their current state. I'm really happy with how the stalks of the mushrooms look as well as the interior. When 1.8 comes out I expect mushrooms will function well as grown house.
Let me know what you think of the progress and any ideas you have.
I just downloaded your updated version. I don't like the new Lapis lazuli as much as the old. The new Lapis looks more white and doesn't flow as nicely (still nice, just less blue).
I like the lava although I think I had that before your updated version. For one of my homes I used the raw, pink striped wood. Now the house is the green striped wood. did you just switch which type of tree had the pink striped trunk? Anyways, I lovelovelove the new windows. For gold or diamond, perhaps you could do a macaroon (you can make them any color, just fill the middle with "cream")
Yes I did switch the pink to the main trees since it made more since for them to be pink than it did for green trees to be so. You can switch the textures if that would be easier for you, but they are going to stay switched like that. I still want to figure out a texture for the tops and bottoms of logs that can fit with all of them.

I really like the new pink trees. I like that the top and bottom of the raw, green striped tree is pink. I actually used wool for my ceilings inside because the red AND green bottom hurt my eyes.

If I could quote the "AAAAH!" from Yogscast properly in text, I would.
