Basically, my Minecraft default texture is the JohnSmith texture pack. I do not know how to change it. It is pissing me off. Not that I don't love that pack, but seriously. I've uninstalled all my mods, deleted all my texture packs, forced updates over and over, and nothing is happening. Help?
And on top of that, MCPatcher is always giving me an error message -.-
If deleting the .bin and having the game redownload it didn't work, then the only reason that texture pack would still be on is if it is the selected one in-game. Simple click the "Mods and Texture Packs" button and select "Default." If you don't want to do that, just drag the Texture Pack folder out, and start the game. Since it cannot choose the previous texture pack it was using it will recreate and empty folder and auto-select the default texture. Then bring the textures back into the folder.

If none of that works, then the files for the JohnSmith pack are in the .bin and have replaced the default files thus making it the default texture pack. If that is the case, then you lied about deleting your minecraft.bin (or misunderstood what to do).
Just in case: Go to your ~\.minecraft\bin and delete "minecraft.bin"
The next time you start the game, it will redownload the .bin file and restore everything fresh.
If you have used the HD texture patch, you will see two "minecraft.bin" files (one with a patch number and one without). The one with the patch number is the backup of the default game before patching it to work with default textures. It is possible that you accidentally deleted the backup rather than the file the games uses.
**Worst Case Scenario**
Backup your worlds and delete the entire .minecraft folder. Start the game and everything is completely new.
Oh my gosh. I'm serious here. I backed up my saves, deleted the entire Minecraft folder, opened the application to get a new one, put in my saved worlds... AND I STILL HAVE THE JOHNSMITH TEXTURE PACK. What the hell is going on.
