I have wanted to make my own texture pack for quite a while now, since i have ten ive downloaded and want to be part of somehting like that. However, i cant find any way to do it except one way that was from Indev. I just downloaded Paint.net, but i still need some help with how to edit the pictures and so i dont have to do all of it myself. If anybody wants to help, go to my profile and email me through the system. I would be very grateful. Now for what the Texture pack would be:
First off, Rockcraft does not mean everything would be made of rocks. This would be pure, die hard American history. Since the 50's, that is.
Lets start with Paintings: One of the bigger paintings would be the Beatles' famous Abbey Road album cover, changed slightly so that Notch was in front, Jeb following him, Herobrine third, and of course the mandatory creeper in the back. Anther one should be Green Day's Heart-shaped hand grenade. Taking up all the small paintings, we get every Beatles album cover (Beatles, not John and Yoko. I still have nightmares about that album cover.).
Now lets head to tools. First off, each different type of sword would be a guitar. Diamond would be a Flying V, Iron could be Micheal Angelo Batio's guitar.
The Stone... Steve Vai's 3-necked guitar.
The Wooden one could be a 1965 Fender 12-string Strat, or a Vintage Les Paul. Either would be great.
Now to Pickaxes. Each one would be a different type of drum. The diamond would be a Snare, iron a different type, stone a cymbal, and finally wood a high-hat.
The shears would have to be actual shaving razor, as i dont think anything else would be good enough.
The map would be a GPS, out of lack for anything better.
The axes would be different types of cologne (again out of lack for anything better).
The bed would have to be a couch.
A torch could be a spotlight.
TNT would be a kickdrum. You hit it and theres an explosion of sound waves demolishing things around it.
Flint and steel=cell phone with white screen. like during a concert.
Cobblestone would be perfectly smooth grey tiles that look like a concert floor. Smooth stone would be either a sidewalk or asphalt complete with diagonal lines to show that its a crossswalk. Now for the stage. (Didnt think i'd forget it, did you?) Sandstone. Nothing else. Sandstone. Obsidian could be semthing. I dont know what. Maybe completely jet black.
Lava could be different types of special effects, depending on if its moving or not. Falling would be sparks, Flowing in any direction would be red smoke, like out of a smoke machine. So opaqueish.
Water would be kinda the same. Still water would be somewhat smoky looking (smoke on the water.) Flowing water would be blue smoke. Falling water, I dont know. Post a comment if you have an idea.
Mobs would do one of the most important elements of modern rock: Insult modern pop stars. Creepers would, of course, be Justin(a) Beiber/Beibress. Spiders would be Lady/Lord Gaga. Skeletons would be Hannah Montana, but then theres spider jockeys... so... No. I dont want to see that. the final goal would be to insult as many pop stars as possible. Maybe Demi Lovato's a pig? There was an eating disorder, so thatd be good. Not the right eating disorder, but who cares?
If you have any ideas, comment on them. I will take them and add them as a poll. If they get enough votes, then i will add them. If anybody does want to help, or at least tell me how to do it, then please comment and say so, as well as mark the poll suggestion at the top.
This will be a completely democratically run thread, excepting a beiberlover attack, in which case i will seize power and keep the traditions of this thread true.
Really, if you have any ideas, i will take them into consideration. Im going to run this as democratically as possible. democracy, not democrat. One user, one vote.
