I've seen many of these "zombie apocalypse" texture packs, but they all aim to create a different world
within Minecraft. So, I made a texture pack of my own, without setting a different world in Minecraft.
Essentially, it just makes everything look as if it aged significantly. It's the texture pack that makes
you wonder exactly how long you've been gone...
Vines... overgrowth... everywhere...
And yet, this was the world you knew...

This is a Work in Progress. I'm releasing it now for you to try out, but keep in mind that this is not done.
Please, please, PLEASE leave comments if you try it out, so I can see what I need to do better. I'm not good
at catching errors.

The terrain.png(All that is edited so far):
Changelog:
0.1.1: Darkened a lot of stuff, added cracks, grime, rust...
0.1.0: Initial Release, unpackaged.
You know, I've been thinkin'. You know when life gives you lemons? Don't make lemonade. Get mad! Get angry! Give the lemons back! Demand to see life's manager! Say, "I don't want your damn lemons!" BURN his house down, with the lemons!
This. Putting vines all over the default textures doesn't make it look older.
The two who've said this are right. Just putting vines on something doesn't mean it's aged. Make trees look rotten, dead, etc. Make wooden planks that looked cracked and broken.
There's a reason that the "Apocalyptic" texture packs make a different world. That's the POINT. Texture packs aim to take the dull edge off Minecraft by creating a new world. Just putting vines over vibrant colors doesn't change anything except possibly making the Minecraft world more annoying.

Like I said, Work in Progress. I know very well myself that painting moss all over the terrain.png isn't the most creative way of doing things. I will take your suggestions into consideration. Although, I don't like being in a place other than Minecraft, in the very game itself, especially if I have to use the HD patcher. It removes the pixelated aspect from the game, and all these other packs use it. My aim here was not to bring one into a different world entirely. I wanted it to be the same Minecraft that you've cone to know and love, except it's aged. Old. Overgrown.
Actually, to tell the truth, the reason for all these vines was due to the fact that initially, I was going to make this a jungle texture pack, as there's a "jungle city" in my server, and I thought this would go well with it. But, after playing around with it, I started to think more and more that aiming for the derelict look would be better. The vines I left, as it seems like a good place to start.
I shall begin on the next version. Thanks for the input, guys!

Nice idea, but could be done better, try making the bark on logs peel, pumpkins rot, slime on sticky pistons dripping down to the bottom, glass cracked, iron doors rust, brittle stone, aged planks, you get the idea, not just vines.
A quick, new release! I took everything into consideration.
I hope you approve. :smile.gif:
I decided not to make the pumpins rot, add cracks to the trunks, etc., as this is about mainly overgrowth, not death. But everything else I did. I think. :unsure.gif:

Thanks! I sorta like the idea of walking through my server's skyscrapers and seeing them as if they had been left alone for a while.

Maybe if you made your own textures, or edited them more, it would look more like overgrowth
