Squid are actually usually a light red/dark pink-ish colour. but there are a couple of species of blue ones.

It looks like a pile of coagulated blood swimming around in water to me. Seriously, it has the same texture as when you damage one in vanilla Minecraft. You just changed the color and it actually looks horrible. Oh, and I think it's in the wrong section.
