Wow, I am impressed. I have seen a couple other "back to alpha" texture packs however what stands out about this one is your great presentation. From your separation of packs based on how much it is like alpha, to your great graphics which easily show the difference, you took a simple idea and perfected it. Bravo.

Thank you brother, glad that the extra sorting and work is noticed. I myself saw the Minecraft Alpha packs too but they were not at a well sophisticated state and getting requests from friends irl and here got me the idea to split the pack and create the variants.
Eventually us alpha players will be as diluted as those who played the game in 2009 are now, and texture packs like these will spark up those "Those were the days" moments. Then it would be followed by a recitation, from memory, of every difference from the first alpha release to now.
Then we will cry from nostalgia.

I remember when I first played Minecraft... It was Alpha, or so, I spawned next to a snowy beach. I made a 4x4x4 house with planks and logs. Never managed to make a pickaxe that world.

I always just put graphics on fast and Smooth lighting Off to get a feel of Alpha. But this is just awesome. I cant thank you enough.
Also, the old logo you tried to remake is a bit blurry and looks like gravel to me.
