Ever felt like classic Minecraft? Perhaps when it was in its Alpha days? Then you've come to the right place.

This pack restores the 'classic' look of Minecraft, before it went all fancy with biomes. You can return to your lush green fields of grass and bright trees once again! Also now with 'Beta' Cobblestone! "I don't want any of that smooth stuff!"

This pack features four editions or varient of the pack and one 'Complete Edition' that includes them all.

Exhibit A: The Green Grass Edition - This pack includes Alpha Grass, Leaves and Adjusted Tall Grass. Turn off smooth lighting for the full effect!

Exhibit B: The Just Oak Edition - This pack includes Alpha Grass, (Tall), Leaves and replaces the texture (and only the texture) of Birch and Pine logs.


Exhibit C: The Summer Edition - This pack includes Alpha grass, (Tall), leaves and NO SNOW and snowfalls (only textures) Also snow blocks become X-Ray! Cheat if you wish!



Exhibit D: The Alpha Edition: This pack includes everything form the last packs, this includes the removal of snow, snowfalls, birch & pine textures & the removal of tall grass, ferns & dead shrubs - the only pack within the Alpha Pack to do so. Also snow blocks become X-Ray! Cheat if you wish! 'Woah this is hardcore!'

COMPATIBILITY
Most mods, in fact all mods that use the default Minecraft texture! So you can have your new ores, tools .etc whilst still playing your, 'Alpha' world.

Make sure furnace tops are smooth stone too for the full effect.

I completely forgot about that! Wow, I can't believe I didn't think of that, since I was in the Alpha days, just forgot it.

Oh my... I have so many links to update and shorten *cries* anything else I forgot so I don't have to do it twice?

Another thing you could do is change all the saplings to oak saplings if you haven't already done it, and the pine leaves texture.

I've done the pine leaves, however I decided not to edit the items.png to change the oak and birch saplings, mainly due to not to confuse people whilst handling their inventory and chests. I intended this just be a cosmetic effect on the world, but thanks for the suggestions.

Oh my, I'm sorry! The 'notification' system sucks and no 'notification' was sent to me even though I subscribed to this topic. I would of answered your query right when you asked it, I wasn't ignoring.

Did you fully read the first post?

'No need for any patching as it does NOT use any custom water/lava. BUT if you are using a .jar that has been HD texture optimized remember to uncheck, 'Custom Water' & 'Custom Lava' to retain the default minecraft water and lava textures.'

I'm assuming your water lava look like this:

Sorry but its impossible to retain the default textures as they are textured and animated in the code and using MCPatcher uses the water within the 'terrain.png'

@LinkPlay9 Ah, well I'm glad that you mine 'first' but yeah. Thanks for your post, anything to push my texture to the front page even though it's a personal opinion. I added the variants that included the removal of such things such as snow, snowfalls, birch and pine as requests from people. It was something that other 'Alpha' textures did not offer so my pack becomes more appealing to those who do like those features in addition of the ye olde textures as they're already some duplicates of this same pack out there. Even though it's the old default textures, I have to make something original!

i wouldn't make snow blocks xray blocks... just make them alpha grass!

Hey just a thought, maybe you could replace the new minecraft logo on the main menu with the old one, and put the old mojang specifications logo in! like the idea? or have you thought about this already :smile.gif:

Thanks all, I did have the changing of the mojang and minecraft logo in mind, just procrastinated since the pack didn't get much attention.

I'll perform those changes very soon! I had the thought of using adF.ly links but not for this pack as it's not really 'original' content it's just the swapping of old ones so it's not 'morally' right.

I like it but can you please make snow visible and have the alpha tall grass normal grass(alpha) and trees(and leaves)alpha? because i got banned from seeing through snow a.k.a x-ray.

If you don't want X-Ray/Invisible Snow then don't use the packs that use them, i.e, the Summer Edition and the Alpha Edition. Use other two.

UPDATE!

Well not really, more of a fix.

'seanvanpelt2' brought to my attention that my Alpha Pack - Alpha Edition had a technical hiccup of where the default pine fancy texture was still visible. I thank thank you for bring this to my attention and now has been fixed.
- One change has been implemented however, the tops of furnaces are now smoothstone as that's 'how it was' back in Alpha.

Just Oak Edition: Link Removed
Summer Edition: Link Removed

Now don't fret, I've updated the files with the new ones and thus kept the original URL's but I might as well post them here anyway.

From now I will not be using Dropbox or CloudApp - it will solely be on MediaFire URL shortend by bit.ly and adF.ly (on actual original packs sorry!).
