(This texture pack is a work in progress and is therefore not finished)
I used to play Warhammer Online a bit and I loved the art and design for the expansion, the Land of the Tomb kings.
(Examples: [1][2][3][4][5][6][7])
I always wanted to make a Land of the Dead game mod, and Minecraft is considerably easier than the other ones I was attempting.
It is still a work in progress, and I will be updating it semi-regularly, for those that like it.
Blocks:
(left to right: sandstone, grass and dirt, stone and desert shrub, coal and diamond ore, gold and iron ore, cobble and mossy cobble, wood and bookshelf, glass, netherrack, fences)
Paintings:
I designed the wood to make fences look half decent.
I have decided that I am going to make two texturepacks: an arid one that works with vanilla Minecraft and a pack designed for desert biome only maps. This is the arid pack and I will finish it before I have a go at the full desert one.
I am completely open to suggestions as some of the blocks are difficult to make desert-y, so if you have any ideas, feel free to tell me!
Can you add in a download link that's not from Upload Robots? Because what the hell is the point of having a texture pack if the download link leads you to a removed site?
Oh thanks, I moved it to Dropbox. Nice catch! It must have just begun closing recently.
Update coming soon, by the way.
Scratch that, accidentally included the unfinished update. Whoops!
Those creepers are awesome :biggrin.gif:
If you want more inspiration for blocks, try having a look at Aza's arid pack for inspiration. It's a 128x128 pack but it uses the same colours and tones that your pack has and I think it could give you some good ideas!

I'll definitely check it out, inspiration is always fun and 128x128 texturepacks have an amazing amount of work put into them.
New tree textures and leaf textures. Normal trees are scrubby desert trees like the ones I saw in Morocco, pines are more arid, and birches are baobab trees.
Mobs will be next (working on wolves and zombies at the moment).

Can't seem to be able to easily capture a screenshot of the creeper, but here's one of the cactus:

Anyway, small update with redstone and snow.

Wolves and the Char.png (for any NPC mods):
It's hard to see from the picture, but the hair on the char.png kind of looks dreadlocks-ish.
That's because I based it off of some real ancient Egyptian drawings, specifically this one:
The skin tone, which is apparently a controversial issueSee here, was a merge of that picture and National Geographic's image of King Tutankhamen:
Gold! A very important block for the Egyptian builder.
It has hieroglyphics, but not intrusively so.
