Simple, make a new .zip folder and add the things you like of each texturepack into that file and put it in the .minecraft texturepack folder, and, viola!

Sure, you have to get a program such as GIMP, Paint.net or Photoshop (DO NOT USE MSPAINT)
Second, you extract both texture packs into wherever, as long as you remember where they are.
Next, open the terrain.png (Or items.png if you are editing items) of both packs using one of the programs I mentioned a second ago.
Fourth, You use the square select tool, (Might be different name, but you understand what I am talking about) and select the entire block that you want copied (It will be a 16x16 square {Maybe larger if you are using a 32x, 64x, 128x or 256x pack.}.)
You then go to the other texture pack, and paste the block IN THE SAME SPOT. (This is very important, or it won't work.)
After you finish, editing the things you like, save/quit.
To re-compress the texture pack that you want to use, go into the folder, Select everything inside it, and ' send to > Zipped Folder " (If you are on mac then it's the same process, with different words)
Rename the new Zipped Folder whatever you want it to be called, and then put it in your texture packs folder.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT REDISTRIBUTE CHANGES AND CALL THEM YOUR OWN !
Lol Paint.Net and MSpaint can do the same things xD
its just harder to find the tools you need in MSpaint
WRONG! Using MsPaint will result in all kinds of bugs related to transparency. Get Paint.net its simple and lightweight. Great for doing editing like this. Goodluck OP!

Look...just follow this guy's advice. He knows what he's talking about and you'll be helping out at the cutting edge of Minecraft by trying 'The Texture Mix Machine'. Whatever you do, do not use MSPaint, unless you want to see a lot of solid white everywhere...unless that's what you want of course. :smile.gif:

MS paint doesn't support transparency.
