Actually, when I said a certain set, I meant a complete set of faces on the wool. The people who download the pack would decide which faces are on the wool by default, and all the faces, default or not, would be in the alt. wool textures folder. There are some people who will HATE having to manually add the faces, especially since Affinite is trying to make updates by the week. Having to manually add the faces we want every time, will get tedious before long.
Since I can't seem to get my vote on the pole, I'll say it here.

You forgot to mention that you made the sides of the furnace and dispenser look like the piston sides. The dispenser barely gets a pass for that, but it needs to come off the furnace, in my opinion. Advanced furnaces have metal parts; we only have stone furnaces.
The new glowstone and monster spawners are great, though personally I think that the flames that automatically come with the spawner doesn't suit its texture.
Is it me, or did the ice become a little more transparent? And I've been meaning to ask, is there a reason bricks are light blue, instead of red?
If you're going to make this compatible with Aether, we'll need a new gold ore texture, because gold rings, are among the accessories you can equip with the Aether mod.
Now, I'm wondering if I should put the faces on the wool when I update the in-game terrain. What do you guys think?

The 1% is the Aether portal graphic. I haven't gone on the Aether with this pack, and I'm not going to until the Aether dirt and Aether grass textures are in place.
Aether support will eventually get done, but I say we ought to focus on the main part of the pack first, since the Aether has so many new textures, and we haven't even finished all of the textures from what's normally in minecraft.

We're missing more from the items then the tiles in the terrain. There are just things that are in dire need of improvement. The Aether I can easily find textures for. There are litterally Millions of possibilities for EVERY last texture on not only the Aether but Minecraft itself. I just haven't found the ones that are perfect for each tile.
The most difficult part of this pack will not be any of the tiles though. I feel like the mobs will be the most terrifyingly difficult. Though all I will have to do is find a skin maker and have him help me out with a 16x skin and then I can use his 'rough draft' to guide me when I upgrade it to 32x.
I will work on everything all around for the most part. And I'll never stop making this pack. I have a goal. And that goal is to make a Sonic pack that when somebody says "Hey you know the sonic pack of minecraft?" I want who they're talking to to be like, "Yeah. Affinite's." I want this to be known as THE Sonic Vintage pack. Not "a" Sonic Vintage pack.
Also! If anybody could help me out with finding a new wooden plank texture. I would be really glad. The current one fits the spot well but is just iffy in my opinion.

I messaged you a while back with an idea for a new wooden plank texture. Are you not going to use it? Personally I prefer the HD version, but I have no idea how the copyright whatnot will have an impact on us using it, if there is any impact at all.

I think when it comes to fanmade items like so, the original copyright still belongs to the original textures. It's like me copying someone who copied someone else with permission. I almost forgot about that. I'll have a look. But I'd still like a wide variety of ideas.
Don't know if you were already planing this or not, but since you made the red dust item look like it had mechanical junk in it, why don't you do the same for the wire?
Well, the current redstone wire was taken directly from Sonic Spinball, and even without that, there's little need to do such a thing. The scrap-to-dust ratio in the redstone dust is too small to make a difference, or warrant scrap getting added to the wire, anyway.

~No... the Nether is supposed to be a hot environment. In Lava Reef zone Act two, all the lava cools. No sense.
