Oil Ocean- scratched. Just mentioned it because it would me amazingly easy to find the tiles for a custom animation and currently I'm not having to much luck.
Aerwhales I don't know, maybe one of those turtle things from Sky Chase zone but, seriously I have really no idea.
Water- There are tons of tiles for water in the Sonic Vintage Series. I won't have trouble with this. I know some things may or may not be working out well but trust me, I'll find a way around to getting it to look better.
EDIT: Lava- It is a straight animation from Lava Reef, but the still graphic is not, the still graphic is from marble zone, but I dislike it and will most likely change it. I think the animation goes to quickly too, but I guess I'll update when notch does and then I'll just fix what's said to be broken.

Have you changed the names for anything, Affinite? I know there's a way to change the names of items through a texture pack, and I'm wondering if you've found out how. I can definitely see grilled pork being replaced with chili dogs for this pack.
Edit: Is it possible to change what hearts looks like? Not just the outline, but the actual hearts? If we can, then I've got an awesome idea for that.

I don't know about the Thumbs.db in each of the sub folders but what I do know is that if you use MCPatcher, then you can insert files labeled "custom_lava[/water]_still[/flowing]" (insert whichever applies to what you are editing. Also custom_fire_n_s and custom_fire_e_w. I've already edited the fire, but it was really just as a placeholder. I know it was based OFF of the Angel Islands scrolling fire. But I mean... lol.. the fire rotates...
The custom lava will not be like the custom fire. I've spent a massive amount of time getting this right. I have a few hours put into each one, as they are both 48 frames.

I alas, cannot edit the actual names of items. It could LOOK like a chili dog, but it would still read "Pork." So I'm not sure what do do with that yet.

I wasn't suggesting acid for this pack, but rather for my own, which is based on Shadow the Hedgehog, not Sonic. Oh, and chili dogs FTW! Oh, and thanks. I was gonna see if I could go around a patcher but I guess I'll use one. Yeah, rings make more sense for the armor bar (and maybe gold, sonic-looking armor so he looks like super sonic,) but I dunno what to use for the health bar. Oh, and are you gonna use raw and cooked chili dogs, cause if not, you should either do a hot dog a chili dog or two chili dogs, with and without cheese.

Hmm... I was thinking of the bird heads for Robotnik's Hammer Machine from Aquatic Ruin zone. That might be simpler but hey maybe later I'll make a poll! And how to to the health I think its a png in the "gui" folder. I'm almost positive the photo is called "icons."
I've definitely seen people on YouTube use texture packs that use the image of bacon for cooked pork, and it says bacon when you move the mouse over it, too. You should look up how to do that.
I was thinking of making the health bar rings, actually. I never use armor, since I prefer to avoid using mods to get items other than slimeballs, spawners, and moss stone, so I forgot about the armor bar. I was going to suggest using 19 rings, losing 1 for each half heart lost, that way you die if you get hit when you have no rings, and overlapping the rings to save space.
As for raw pork, it would just be whatever part of pork is used to make chili dogs, hence it being raw, whereas cooked pork, would be fully cooked and prepared as chili dogs.
@Chibinuva I was just hoping that no one would mention acid here because it's a great idea, but we have enough on our plates already.
Anyway, once I manage to peel myself off my Playstation Emulator, I'll try to get more suggestions for you. I think my slump is gone, but I'm preoccupied with other things right now. :mellow.gif:
Edit: I like my idea for the dispensers better, too. The lion/dragon heads from other places are part of the background, and therefore, usually have 1 or more sides that wouldn't really have anything on them, so it'd feel bland. Plus, the bird statues as dispensers would be just like how the dispensers are now; something to make you gape at, and realize just how much effort was put into this pack.
Edit2: About the particles that come out of objects when trying to break them...Is it possible to make them different from each other? Like having different particles for each ore? Another idea is brewing in my head.

That would be great, but unless I'm somehow VERY mistaken, no you cannot. the breaking particles are derived from the block you are breaking, and there are no separate textures for them in the particles thingy.
Also, I do like the bird head idea, but what about the little eggman-faces that shoot arrows? those might be cool. speaking of which, why don't we actually use those exact arrows in the pack?
Haha NotBitstripsDoom, You do! But I still haven't gotten the image well. The arrows look a tad bit big when looking at them from the side.

But I was also thinking that so long you have rings, even 1, you are protected and you can get hit as much as you want, you just have to keep jumping and getting the ring. So in my logic they were more of a protective force then Sonic's ACTUAL health.

Calling rings a protective force makes much more sense, and signifies the role they would play as armor, rather than health. Also, I think this was an unlicensed game for the SNES, but this Sonic game did have hearts on the bottom-left of the screen. I'm pretty sure it's unlicensed because Mario appeared in the game, along with other reasons, so I'm not sure you might want to use it. The game was called Sonic the Hedgehog as well, so it will be fairly hard to find it online, I would think.

IronWaffle leaf ideas are perfect, though I think I may use the Wood zone leaves for normal as they tile much better. The pine needles on the other hand.. no idea how it will tile lol, or how I would make a "fancy" graphic for such also.

But current things up for next update is, a decent placeholder for custom water, a work-in-progress custom lava textures [flowing is done, still, I'm still looking], edited certain blocks. Halfsteps from Labyrinth zone, New Iron blocks, new furnaces and crafting tables [more recognizable], new block breaking animation, AT LEAST a placeholder for the dispensers, AANNNNnddd [TY IronWaffle] new leaves... this has already been, or will be attempted and implemented in the next update..
Dispensers will not work according to plan. It seems it shares graphics with the furnace's top and the furnaces side... need quick feedback on this so I can get back to work.. :biggrin.gif:
I thought it also shared those with the pistons? Default pistons have the same sides as furnaces and dispensers. I suggested the dispenser idea because I thought they didn't share textures, since you were able to change pistons uniquely. Does this not apply towards furnaces/dispensers? That really sucks. One good idea, down the drain.
If they have to be derived from each other, I say we should implement karlthechao's idea about using those statue heads that were attached to the walls. Use one head for furnaces, and a different one for dispensers. I could see a lion-head furnace looking pretty cool. Have an open mouth for an off furnace, and a closed one with flames seeping out of the sides of the mouth for an active furnace. Don't think there was a lion-head statue in the Sonic games, though. We'd have to scour the games to find all the different heads and see which ones fit best.

...Why? I think they were great before, and switching to these, in my opinion, will be a big step down in the texture pack. Please provide a picture, because this sounds like something that will backfire pretty badly.

The gold blocks conflicted with the halfsteps and the iron blocks due to having graphics that are only visible correctly when looking at them from the side, looked lazily textured and I could easily use the graphic for something more useful.
Changed the cobblestone too. People really seemed to like that. But I'm almost positive everything I'll upload next will be on everyone's good side. I'm starting to do more of a good job adding textures that will show that I'm not just a graphic ripper who slaps something together and calls it a pack.
Personally, I loved the ripped graphics, but I suppose it's for the best if you make them yourself. Now, when are you going to change the regular stone? You mentioned you would change cobble, but the regular needs fixing much more.
I suppose we'll see how it goes when you release the next update. I hope for the best.

The current stone in my opinion isn't all that bad except for the fact that it is cubes ENTIRELY which can get a little straining on the eyes after a while.
MASSIVE UPDATE. I'll start working on the chickens but really if I'm using the mob from Sonic Spinball, then I don't have much to work off of. Nonetheless I can assure you all that I WILL NOT be updating this UNTIL 1.8 is out. I've been very busy lately and just getting this update on here was difficult enough.

Personally, I would like to see the Dispensers, and the Chicken textures done for the next release.
Edit: It's a shame that the fence texture is derived from the wood texture. That fence from the Wood Zone would have been perfect.

The current stone in my opinion isn't all that bad except for the fact that it is cubes ENTIRELY which can get a little straining on the eyes after a while.
MASSIVE UPDATE. I'll start working on the chickens but really if I'm using the mob from Sonic Spinball, then I don't have much to work off of. Nonetheless I can assure you all that I WILL NOT be updating this UNTIL 1.8 is out. I've been very busy lately and just getting this update on here was difficult enough.
