Yes, its the actual sun.
It's actually the symbol of a band called "Dream Theater", it's called the majesty symbol. As you can tell I'm a huge fan of that band and Prog rock in general. you should see the moon if you think that's special.
Finally someone who knows gud music wen they hear it :smile.gif:
SO, here we have the only pack I've seen with a PURPLE GAMECUBE texture for something.. (Not sure what it is, my guess is the record player. :tongue.gif:) I like mainly the smooth, yet still hi-def texture you put in this pack... sleek and detailed. ^^ My only thing here is maybe add more of a "plank" look to the wood, so it doesn't look like burned grass.. I like it, don't get me wrong, but shading effects that seperated the planks would look great. :3
Also, the sun.. I like that too, but do you have the original sun image behind that logo? It'd look awesome without it. :3
Thank you very much! The planks are still something I'm experimenting with, the old planks were more "planky" but they didn't tile well...I will upload the non-logo sun as an alternate in future versions. BTW it's a pumpkin... :biggrin.gif:
I like how most things look, except the sun, moon, and tree colors? Like whats up with purple trees? lol :tongue.gif:
Really? Not a fan of the moon either? Guess I can't please them all. As for the purple trees...I will try to fix that soon, but in my world it's fairly balance between all the color spectrum. Glad you like the other stuff, though.
allthough I haven't downloaded it yet, the screenshots of this texture pack have truely impressed me, most of the things are really my style! I saw someone complain about the stove, this particulair stove isn't completely up my alley I do love the modern look on things like furnace's, door's etc so I hope you keep it :smile.gif: Love the stone, the wood, the glowstone and the glass very much all ready! Will be getting a computer again I can play MC on next week and I will definately be trying it out than :smile.gif: Thought I'd let you know, everyone needs to get a compliment every now and than to keep you sane ^^
I'm glad you like it so much! I might give the stove a slightly different look but it will still be modernistic, that's what I intended when I first started. And thanks to you for restoring my sanity :biggrin.gif:
I'm so glad all of you came to comment! Your thoughts go a long way to improving this pack! And now, I'm going to post an update in a few minutes, so look out folks...
These are images off the internet. You should be ashamed of yourself...
Don't come onto my thread feeling so self-righteous. Are some of my textures based on stock/pub. domain photos? Yes.
I mean, obviously things like the furnace, pictures, or the moon and sun symbols are based on internet photos, but nobody's trying to cover that up. And most of the textures *aren't* from the internet anyway, but made with GIMP....Don't be so quick to assume that you have the all-seeing eye. [Some are pixel-by-pixel drawn (like the rails or doors), while many others take advantage of GIMP's built-in scripts, like difference clouds and bump-mapping.] I think what aggravates me most is that you suggested that I should feel some sort of shame for my methods....? I feel no shame. I'm actually pretty happy with what I've done so far, so
don't come asserting your morality lesson to me. I'm not doing this for any sort of profit, I'm not using ad.fly links or anything similar. I'm just doing this for my own enjoyment. If you'd just said something along the lines of, "I don't like that you used stock images in your textures," Then that's just your opinion, and I would only be happy that you voiced an opinon.
However, you had to go further with your 'shame' and whatnot, I think that's just uncalled for in what was otherwise a peaceful thread. I have no desire to continue this topic of conversation any further with you. If you don't like how I do things, then just practice in aversion and leave me be, since I haven't broken any of the forum rules. I wish to continue on in peace.
On Topic: I am posting the 2.43 update in a couple minutes, with new glass, decorative blocks, and more...also, a new siggy (which will be included in the pack).
WOW! It's pretty good.
But I don't really like the sun/moon.
I know that there's mixed feelings about it, that's why alternate textures were given as well in recent versions. Anyways, thanks for that comment! I really appreciate it!
The first thing I noticed is that it really feels japanese, or asian in some way.
I like it :smile.gif:
Thank you very much, although that vibe is purely coincidental; I used the Tatsuyama map to take some epic screenshots, but if you used it in another map (XVIII city for example), you might think it had a european feel...IDK, I just know that I didn't have that in mind while making it.
My first 1.8 ready version...kinda. It has the stone bricks (with the cracked and mossy versions), and iron bars, but I'm not sure what the other new textures look like in game, so I used the textures from the terrain.png that Jeb tweeted as placeholders until I can see for myself. It'll work with 1.8 when it comes out, trust me. Until then, some other important changes have taken place:
I would like to thank everyone on MC forums who helped to decide which wood texture I should use ingame.
So...enjoy!

Thanks, you too! (Can't wait for both Opeth and DT's new albums...)
