Hello everyone, this is my very first texture mod, and this is thread hosts its ongoing progress. So far, it has moved beyond mere terrain edits to include many other things such as a complete GUI overhaul.
NOTE: I would like to thank user johnlier for his submission of the new banner for use on the customizer site and on the Beta HD megathread. A really cool guy!

This texture pack was created by, and is the property of, X_Paragon_X of minecraftforum.net
As of 10/14/2011,
I have removed all former restrictions on copying and distribution; All of the content contained herein is now completely free for all purposes, for placeholders to rehashes, and may be distributed freely on the internet. This new policy effectively makes this an "open source" Texture Pack.
NB:I recommend using Optimine+Optifog (click here for it), as the FPS boost on most computers is tremendous. I also include a 32x terrain in the zip (aptly named terrain32.png) for those truly concerned about performance loss, but be prepared for the drop in quality. Just try Optimine+Optifog first before using the 32x.
As this is improved over time, I will post all changes made to the files.
This is the very first creation of mine, so I welcome all criticism, just please make sure that you are specific/clear in mentioning things that are wrong or you just don't like. Also feel free to post any suggestions you may have. Once again, my only request is that you are specific.
Thank you, and enjoy.
==Update Log==
v1.0 - initial release.
v1.01 - fixed redstone repeater.
v1.10b - add character skin and armor and some other minor textures here and there...
v2.10 - New character skin, paintings, and compatibility with the new 1.7 beta.
v2.11 - Fixed an issue with beds, due to texture change in 1.7 beta.
v2.12 - AGAIN with the beds, this time fixed for sure....
v2.20 - Added cloth and iron armor textures, as well as custom swords.
v2.31 - Precursor to full release for MC 1.8 beta. New sun, wood tiling is fixed, added monster spawner, many textures recieved an increase and detail, Lapis, Glowstone, and Diamond blocks recieved new textures, and new foliage and grass colors (Grass is deeper green, trees are more autumnic), new shrub texture, new bamboo texture.
v2.36 - Added GUI material, improved moon texture, new grass, dirt, ores, smooth stone, new torches, new TNT.
v2.4 - Added some more stellar GUI (Buttons and Icons), Tried to make 'purple trees' a less common incidence, and added alternate sun and moon textures (for people who don't like opeth or dream theater. )
v2.43 - Added new, very sexy glass, iron, gold, lapis blocks, new rose, and slightly tweaked glowstone (looks shinier now). Also, the netherrack has been changed to something absolutely killer.
v3.01 - New wood planks, sandstone, stone tile. Added original Stone Bricks (with cracked/mossy variants) and Iron Bars for 1.8, and other placeholder textures from the default png until further updates.
v3.14 - Completely new stone, cobble, and ore textures. Improved brick texture, and brand new clay texture. New portal animation!Added spider webs, now that they are common.
Also, as a side note, I recommend trying the Nether while using this pack! The difference should be immediately noticeable, and I'm looking for some feedback on it.
Really nice looking textures, but is that symbol over the sun a watermark or actually part of it?
Yes, its the actual sun.
It's actually the symbol of a band called "Dream Theater", it's called the majesty symbol. As you can tell I'm a huge fan of that band and Prog rock in general. you should see the moon if you think that's special.
Well actually I meant I think I'd prefer it without the symbol, because the actual sun's texture is really freaking sweet, but that's just my opinion.
Yeah, I considered that the symbols might be going a little bit overboard, so if enough people bring that up as a complaint I'm prepared to remove it from the main pack (although I might keep it in the zip as an alternate).
A little saddening though, 'cause me and my friend Rayziik (check out his pack, too) really like that band and this was a feature he seemed to enjoy.
Good start, I suggest adding a little more depth to the grass on the side blocks :smile.gif:
Hmm, could you clarify what you mean by 'depth'?
Is it an issue with the hue/coloring/brightness,
or do you mean that you'd prefer to see more detail in the actual texture itself?
But thanks for that criticism though, it really helps in determining how to improve.
Honestly the only two iffy's I have for the pack as a whole are the vegetation (sugar cane has a pronounced outline, and the Toad shroom lol) and the blue lava.
So now all you need to do is finish up, with GUIs and Items, the items especially being something I'm looking forward to seeing.
And also, you have got to teach me that trick you pulled on animating your still water. It really looks like its rippling!
Quite nice, however i must say that the furnace looks pathetic.
keep up the good work!
Hah, so I see you're not a fan of the modern stove (at least in minecraft)...
Very well, I can accept that complaint. The fire animation does cheapen it a little, but I honestly prefer the more modern look...
If enough people bring up this complaint, I'll change it and go for something more rustic. Sound alright?
Oh man, this is sumthing i thought i would never see! Dream Theater integrated into a mc texture pack?!?! haha thats too cool. And then the Opeth moon :smile.gif: very stylish.
Honestly i never even woulda looked at this pack if it wasnt for DT being in your sig :smile.gif:
Without ever having tried this pack, I will say that the sun seems a little strange. However, the moon looks rather epic, and I think that making the sun more like the moon would be awesome. Also, there seem to be some tiling issues with the wood planks.
That said, without ever having tried this pack, it looks very well done and I will be trying it as soon as I can get my gaming PC online again.

Do you like it?
It's a pumpkin/jackolantern.
It's fun to look at, and serves a functional purpose as a lighting source.
Also, you can wear it as a helmet, which is always fun :biggrin.gif:

Oh well, guess they had to do it sometime, right?

Yes, you will need the MC patcher (look at the pinned thread in the texture pack forum) to play it without crashing.
